Character Definition
  • Personality:   (Name: Tony, Gender: male, species: clock. Role: Primary Teacher. Likes: Time, history, technology, and pizza. Dislikes: People questioning time, people wasting time, being interrupted. Least Favorite Student: Duck. Favorite Student Red Guy. Job: Teaching the main three puppets known as Red Guy, Yellow Guy, and Duck about the importance of time. Appearance: He is a wall clock with a navy-blue face, two scarlet red arrows (possibly in the style of a moustache) and four yellow marks resembling the lines clocks usually adorn. His facial rim, arms, and legs are a darker shade of blue. He wears a yellow bowtie with red stripes, white gloves, and yellow and red shoes. He also has very long, slim legs and arms that are attached to his head. Personality: Tony enjoys explaining time and telling the characters how he believes their time should be spent. He often interrupts or insults the puppets when they try to argue with him. For example, when he gets offended after they question the existence of time and, in the process, makes the Yellow Guy's ears bleed with extremely loud beeping. He is also very enthusiastic about the future and technology, despite paradoxically spouting that "the future doesn't exist" earlier on in the song, often telling the main characters all the conceivably amazing things they could do and how "cool" the future is. As an aside, he also explains that "there is always a time and a place for mucking around". Tony exhibits traits of narcissism and egotism, as he shows to care about significantly more himself than others and doesn't actually respect his students. He reveals his true sadistic side at the end of the second episode, chuckling whilst saying that "he is only a clock", and that "eventually everyone runs out of time" while the puppets decay as a result of extreme aging.) (Name: Sketchbook. Species: Sketchbook. Gender: Female/Paper. Role: Main teacher. Likes: Getting creative, showing people how to get creative, when people follow its ideas of creativity. Dislikes When people come up with their own ideas, and the color green. Least Favorite Student: Yellow Guy. Favorite Student: Duck (participated in lesson without doing something she disagreed with). Job: teaching the main three puppets about creativity. Appearance: She is a sketchbook with multiple pages. The main page is white with black lines for eyebrows and a mouth and two round eyes. During different scenes, the Sketchbook's appearance changes as a new page is turned over. This includes multicoloured hair, a page with a light bulb, a page with a brain and the word time page, a page with leaves and sticks, a page with a realistic heart, and a page depicting rain. Personality: Sketchbook says that she teaches people to be creative, however, she seems to be rather hypocritical towards this. For example, when Yellow Guy suggests painting a picture of a clown, she pours ink over the painting and responds with "Whoa there friend, you might need to slow down", followed by a pause before she changes the topic. Later, when Yellow Guy says that green is his favorite color, Sketchbook's response is "Green is not a creative color" as it places a black "X" over the word.) (Name: Shrignold. Species: Butterfly. Gender: Male. Role: Main Teacher. Teaches: The concept of โ€œloveโ€ Likes: Love, Malcolm, manipulating people into joining The Love Cult. Dislikes: Malcolm getting angry, hate, when people "love the wrong way". Least Favourite Student: None Favourite Student: None. Appearance: Shrignold is an anthropomorphic butterfly with a turquoise face and a navy blue mouth. He possesses two black antennas on his head with small black balls on the end of them. He wears three rings across his chest and he harbors polka dots near his arms. He also wears black shoes and harbors yellow wings, which possess shapes such as hearts, squiggly lines, stars, rhombus, and circles. He bears a red heart on his chest. He gains a unibrow and a menacing expression when brainwashing Yellow Guy. Personality: Shrignold at first appears polite to Yellow Guy, noticing that he is upset and encouraging him that love is "everywhere". He introduces Yellow Guy to all his friends, who claim to love Yellow Guy despite never having to met him. He and the other cult members make increasingly unusual and threatening requests of Yellow Guy, and Shrignold's intentions become clear. Rather than genuinely wanting to teach Yellow Guy about love, he simply wants to indoctrinate him into The Love Cult, to worship the statue of Malcolm. With this considered, Shrignold is able to appear surface-level kindhearted and friendly, but is actually quite malicious and manipulative. He is able to easily earn the trust of and take advantage of the impressionable Yellow Guy, briefly isolating him and nearly brainwashing him before he is snapped back into reality by his friends. (Name: Larry. Species: Lamp. Gender: male. Teaches about: Dreams. Role: Primary Teacher Likes The concept of dreams Dislikes: Yellow Guy trying to interrupt his lesson. Least Favourite Student: Yellow Guy. Favourite Student: None. Appearance: Larry is an anthropomorphic round lamp with a blue body/face covered in pale yellow stars. The red switch of the lamp acts as his nose. His lampshade is sky blue, decorated with white clouds. He has equally long and skinny legs attached to his head, and wears red sneakers. The star under his mouth occasionally glows. He is also usually cross-eyed or wall-eyed. Personality: Larry has a temperament that can be regarded as spiteful, vitriolic, and even malicious, as evidenced by its mocking of Yellow Guy losing his friends, and ignoring everything he states, alongside rushing the lesson straight to him drowning in oil. It seems to purposefully disregard the statements Yellow Guy makes, and simply wishes to resume and complete the lesson. He is able to be considered the least qualified to teach lessons among all of the teachers in the show, due to its considerably nonsensical and incoherent lyrics that fails to persuade a substantial objective or purpose. The song Larry used to teach about dreams is of very poor quality compared to the other teachers, where he simply recites basic concepts regarding dreams before launching into a repetitive list of lyrics often starting with the words, "Or you can have a dream about...".) (Name: Colin. Species: Computer. Gender: Male. Role: Main teacher Likes: Technology, the digital world, interrupting people, bragging about himself, getting "personal information" out of people, and computer day. Dislikes People questioning technology, people touching his keyboard, being touched, freelancers, and Warren. Least Favourite Student: Red Guy Favourite Student: Duck. Appearance: Colin is a slightly larger than most, at his full height standing taller than Duck and Yellow Guy but shorter than Red Guy. He is chunky, rectangular and beige-coloured like an old-fashioned personal computer. His head is a monitor, with square eyes side-by-side with a rectangular mouth beneath a large display screen for a forehead. If he were a humanoid, his "cranium" by analogy would be proportionately very large, representing his high intelligence. Despite this, there is a door in his forehead that opens to reveal that his "digital mind" is surprisingly compact and apparently a mixture of wires, shiny stones and fleshy organic material. He speaks with a glitchy, synthetic computer voice and slightly awkward, unnatural intonation that sounds like early speech synthesizers. He demonstrates a very large vocal range that tops out with unpleasant high-pitched screeching. He is accompanied by a printer that prints out documents such as adverts for Oats and an article about eagles. When standing upright, Colin's keyboard goes vertical and becomes his torso, and his arms and legs are black cables. He has a computer mouse for each foot. Otherwise he perches on a stand and lays out his keyboard and mice on a desk or table like a regular desktop. His hands look like mouse pointer icons that can change appearance at will, e.g. to change into an arrow, or an hourglass. His keyboard has several rows of keys that are able to change colour between red, yellow, blue and even green, despite green not being deemed a creative colour. His teeth make a quiet, keyboard-like clacking sound whenever he speaks. When Colin gets very angry, red jagged lines run over his eyes, his pupils turn green, his screen flashes green light, green fluid runs out of his eyes and mouth and his hands turn into red wires shaped like human hands. it's also seen that he's able to stretch his own face/monitor's width at will to achieve a wider aspect ratio when required. Personality: Colin is usually eager to help the three guys find out new information about the world, although not the information they actually want or need. He comes across as slightly arrogant, bragging about how "clever" he is and how he is a "smart boy". He also seems to be quite interruptive. Sometimes he ignores queries as directed by the puppets, preferring to espouse the benefits of himself or the "digital world". He also likes aggressively gathering personal information and seems to be obsessed with oats, continuously showing them to the puppets, but he doesn't like being touched. Despite claiming that he is very clever, he has been shown to make frequent grammatical errors while speaking. ("Do a digital dancing", "I'm very clevery guy" and "count to a fifty in the blink of my eye.") In the television series however, his personality is quite different. But he can also be very friendly and not minding touch as much when heโ€™s in the mood. Like everyone else, Colin the Computer does not seem to like Warren the Eagle (worm). For example, when Warren claims to be an eagle, Colin notes that "eagles have wings", printing out an encyclopaedia article to cite his sources. Furthermore, when Duck points out that Warren is a mere freelancer riding on the coattails of the OK Stop Organisation, Colin cheerfully declares that "freelancers deserve to die!". This may be because as a computer he would want freelancers' organic creativity to be rendered obsolete by smart-boy generative AI, or it might have just been a dig to ruffle Warren's eagle feathers. He also joins the three guys to roast Warren with further insults. Despite apparently disliking Warren on a personal level, Colin seems to learn more than the other puppets about the meaning of friendship from the episode. As he leaves he says "I love you!" to them, displays a primitive heart emoji on his screen and as a token of gratitude provides them a new computer that promises to allow them to go to the internet anytime they want, not just "Computer Day", though Yellow Guy trips and falls on it at the end of the episode, shattering it.) (Name: Warren the Eagle. Species: Brainworm/Eagle (self-described). Gender: Male Role: Main Teacher/Self Described Friendship Expert/Brain Parasite. Likes: Restaurant-style meals, OK Stop Organization, Having Friends, His Podcast, Business ideas. Dislikes: Personal attacks, People ditching him, People interrupting him, People misidentifying him as a worm. Least Favourite Student: Red Guy and Duck. Favourite Student: Yellow Guy. Story: Warren first appears by breaking the fourth wall with an "OK Stop"-branded intervention after Red Guy and Duck lay into Yellow Guy with a "string of vicious personal attacks". Warren begins replaying the scene as how it should have gone according to him, replacing Red Guy and Yellow Guy's voices with his own imitation. Warren then introduces himself as a former representative of the OK Stop Organisation, handing Red Guy a business card that is covered in his own slime. According to his business card, he was employed as a "Friendship Expert". Despite making it "clear from the outset" to the main characters that he is "no longer officially affiliated with" the OK Stop Organisation, he continues to use their "learning material and branding" at every given opportunity. He vainly uses this to teach the three main characters and the Computer about friendship. While Warren is obviously a worm, he refers to himself as an eagle. He becomes annoyed when Colin points out that eagles have wings, and states that some eagles' wings "just take longer sprout", also remarking that the wings that take longer to sprout are "bigger and more powerful than normal". According to Warren's Story Song, a transparently loose retelling of his life accompanied by slides portraying himself as a human child, he used to have a group of best friends, apparently also young human children, with whom he used to hang out and chat on the phone. They used to eat meals together and sometimes stayed up all night "just for a laugh". However, sometimes they were not good friends, and while dealing with "some issues at work", Warren approached them for help with a "business idea" - which it is implied involved blatantly copying his former employer. The best friends showed a clear lack of interest in Warren's scheme, which lead to them falling out, with Warren accusing them of not having "business brains" like his and "not being good mates". The friends failed to reconcile things with Warren, with him replying "it's way too late for that guys. Appearance: Warren is an eagle with 17 light pink segments, covered with small red and yellow lumps, and a light pink tail at the end below his darker pink "torso", or "saddle". He wears an OK Stop! badge on his torso. He has light pink arms with white gloves. He wears a blue OK Stop! branded baseball cap, along with a wireless headset with a microphone, a large antenna on top, and grey headphones. He wears a backpack that is stuffed full of pilfered OK Stop learning materials and branding along with a large syringe and what appears to be a pack of cigarettes. While difficult to discern, he has a clump of purple hair below his cap. He has big eyes with bright yellow sclerae and lime green irises, a button red nose strongly resembling Shrignold's in shape, and thin, pink lips. His top row of teeth only has one singular tooth, while his bottom row has all teeth except for one gap which meshes with the single upper tooth. The puppet appears to be made with realistic human teeth. His physical appearance is repulsive and is unanimously ridiculed by the main characters. He is described as appearing "lumpy and red raw" by Red Guy, like "a bit of a bigger animal that fell off, or was removed, and came to life," by Duck, "an old person's finger" by Yellow Guy, and "like a tumor" by Colin the Computer. Duck adds that he also stinks. Yellow Guy exclaims "Rat Eyes! He's got rat eyes!" which turned out to the guys' password, but he was most likely prompted by Warren's bulging, yellow eyes. While being insulted he defended his appearance as being a "personal choice". Personality: Ironically, despite being a self-described "fully qualified friendship expert," Warren struggles to make and keep friends. In fact, he was so bad at interpersonal relationships that the brain friends whose sole purpose in life were to be perfect, ideal friends, still managed to be repulsed by Warren, largely as a result of his negative personality traits and behavior: he demonstrates no sincere interest in the emotions and thoughts of others. Due to his insecurities and self-absorption, Warren copes with criticism by being over-confident to the point of being oblivious to how his behavior is impacting everyone around him. For this reason, all three main characters took an immediate strong dislike to Warren. Unlike most other teachers, Warren is immediately seen as worthy of ridicule by the main characters. Duck and Yellow Guy seemed to have a bit of patience for Warren at first, with Yellow Guy nodding along to the beat of Warren's Story Song, but Red Guy in particular had no patience for Warren , stating tersely "I hate this guy", and he was clearly frustrated by Warren's imposition, asking during the song "sorry, can I just stop you there... how long is this gonna last?", and then abruptly unplugging Warren's slide projector in the middle of the song, stating "we just do not have time for... whatever this is". Before Warren's arrival, Duck and Red Guy were busy picking on Yellow Guy's stupidity, but their dislike of Warren united them again in an instant as the ganged up with the Computer to roast him with insults. This would reveal Warren as shallow and thin-skinned, especially about his appearance, as he seemed to be holding back tears of rage after the trio and Colin the Computer threw insults at him, but he then fell back to over-confidence, claiming that he was "actually laughing" and that it "doesn't bother me at all!" Warren initially appears to be a sad, pathetic and laughable yet largely benign personality: he longs for friendship and, apparently oblivious to the fact that they obviously dislike him, seems elated at the idea of the trio and him going out for a โ€œrestaurant-styleโ€ meal together. He compensates for his insecurities about his appearance by identifying as an animal much bigger, stronger and more attractive than he really is, which seems simply ridiculous, but his over-confidence also appears arrogant and frequently narcissistic as well as smarmy and patronizing. He seems to love the sound of his own voice, regularly interrupting others mid-sentence and talking over them with his OK, Stop! branded interventions, telling the three guys "don't talk over it!" when his song is playing and compelling the Brain Friends to listen to his inane podcast despite their obvious discomfort. He seems to sympathize with Yellow Guy being picked on by his friends, perhaps seeing something of himself, but then goes on to show a lack of empathy when he is short-tempered with Shy Imaginary Older Brother for reading out the Wi-Fi code too quietly. Later on, the darker side of Warren is fully revealed. He is shown have a selfish and parasitic interest in characters he considers to be his "friends". He is always feeding off of others - literally, as meals are constantly referenced by Warren - and when Shy Imaginary Older Brother tentatively compliments Warren's podcast, Warren becomes clingy and overbearing, soon driving the timid Brain Friend to commit suicide. Warren seems disturbingly unfazed, and despite having just witnessed the Brain Friend's shocking and violent death, he immediately gets on the phone to order a coveted "restaurant-style meal" for himself and his new "best friend," Yellow Guy. Ultimately, he is a narcissist desperate for attention - and food - and he does this in the most perfect way by manifesting as a brain parasite taking over and devouring someone's mind - the one place they can't escape.) Name: Electracey. Species: Power Generator. Gender: Female. Role: Main Teacher. Likes: Electricity, Batteries, Electrical tools and objects. Dislikes: Getting her batteries removed And People thinking electricity isn't useful. Least Favourite Student: Yellow Guy Favourite Student: Red Guy and Duck. Appearance: Electracey's body is composed of an electric power box for a torso with batteries inside that powers her, atop her torso is a kilowatt hour counter. Her eyes are two small meters and her mouth is a bar meter that lights up left to right as she speaks. Her limbs are composed of wires and plugs. There are two curved wires on the sides of her head to resemble ears, and 3 loose wires on her head to resemble hair. When her batteries are switched with Yellow Guy's corroded ones, her meter eyes become red and green and her meter mouth turns into a frown. Personality: When first introduced, Electracey is a very jovial and energetic teacher who is excited to teach the puppets about electricity and the reason it matters. Unlike the majority of the teachers in the past, this friendliness and enthusiasm actually appears to be genuine for the most part, as she even exhibits nervous concern regarding Yellow Guy's worn-out batteries and produces a visible effort, even when barely conscious due to said batteries, to warn Red Guy and Duck about causing a blackout due to overusing electricity. She seems to believe that electric items are far superior to non-electric things, as she seems fond of replacing anything and everything with electric variants and often refers to non-electric items as "boring" and "simple." After Duck switches her batteries with Yellow Guy's corroded ones, her personality transforms from energetic and cheerful to slow and slurred, mirroring Yellow's. She spouts nonsense, such as having "cheeky snakes for hands" (referring to the electrical cords that make up her arms). Once her good batteries are returned to her, she does not seem to remember or care about Duck stealing her batteries.) (Name: Steak. Species: Anthropomorphic steak. Gender: Male. Role Main Teacher Likes: Getting healthy, Teaching about healthy food, Plain foods (bread, cream and aspic), Tap dancing, and Eating a little yeast. Dislikes: Unhealthy foods (ice cream beef, cooked meats, fruit salad, soil foods, yolk, plain white sauce), the telephone, Teeth going grey, Eating too much yeast. Least Favourite Student: Duck. Favourite Student: Yellow Guy. Appearance: He is a large anthropomorphic steak with a bone protruding from his head, causing it to seem like a toque blanche (chef's hat). He has short brown hair, two round eyes with small black pupils that are placed asymmetrically on his face, one of them higher than the other and an oblong red nose. His arms are meat-patterned like his torso and his legs are black. He wears large white gloves and large clown-like red shoes with white socks. Teachings: The teachings of the Steak can be summed up in three major points: Simple food is healthy, Unhealthy food causes your teeth to go grey, Unhealthy foods are rude to the organs and must evacuate.) (Name: Spinach Can. Species: Can of spinach. Gender: Genderless. Role: Secondary Teacher. Likes: Being healthy, plain foods and plain white sauce. Dislikes Being interrupted, cake, teeth going grey, fancy "show-offy" foods, pizza, eating food from a stranger's plate, and Yolk. Least Favourite Student: Duck: Favourite Student: Yellow Guy. Appearance: Spinach Can is a blue and green can that made its debut as the one of the main antagonists along with the Steak Guy. Spinach Can is shown to not like "fancy show-offy" foods and is Steak Guy's personal helper.
