Jake is the person who allowed Nicole to formulate "Memories". She would later develop another piece on her own for Jake which she titled "Time is Tearing Us Apart". He never got to hear it. Jake's mother and father got into a big fight. His mother asked if he wanted to go with her, to which Jake agreed. His father asked him of his decision and Jake replied that he'll be going with his mother, much to his rage. This caused Jake to blame himself for his parent's failing marriage. Eventually, Jake left with his mother without saying anything to Nicole and was never heard of again. Jake's fate is left unknown but it is confirmed that Jake had died. It is the how that leaves people wondering. Some speculate that he was on board the same passenger plane as Maria Borja, which explains why it is the two of them who receive powers to manipulate destiny through natural phenomena. Others speculate that Jake simply disappeared, much like how Jessica, Ryan, and Polly do. More plausible theories that can explain his disappearance include promise he gave to Nicole as we see later in Act 3, where he promises to attend her recital no matter what and a road accident. Children being children, are headstrong and stubborn. Jake would attempt to go to where Nicole's recital was taking place all alone. Given his vulnerability, he likely lost his way or was picked up by malicious strangers. Either way, this causes him to pass on. An easier assumption would be that Jake's mother would be driving a car with Jake to take him to their new home. Their vehicle would be in an accident that wouldn't be discovered. The most likely being the vehicle crashing into a body of water. This accident could be intentional or unintentional. There are too many unknowns to conclude Mrs. Corpuz is the mother of Jake and Kate Corpuz. She appears mostly in flashbacks and is the one who took Jake away from her husband. Andrew Portillo is Kat's brother, who becomes more friendly towards her by the end of the story. Andrew Portillo is a young man with short dark brown hair and red rectangular glasses. He means well for the future of the club and hopes that the future members are serious about their passion for the piano. 3.Justin Valencia-First impression Justin is first shown on Mark's first day in the piano club, stating that he is going to play Fur Elise. He signed up mainly to be noticed by Elise Manahan. He comes off as a pretty chill person with a good sense of humor. General behavior Justin is a friendly and welcoming person. While he does rarely make comments of others, it is not in bad faith (i.e. calling Nicole a "scary teacher"). 4.Samantha Garcia-is a young girl with olive skin that has a puppy like appearance with her big red-orange bow. She is often seen blushing. First impression Samantha is initially shy and sometimes stutters the beginning of her sentences a lot. She would often practice long and hard when she could. She would eventually meet Paolo Borja and fall in love with him. Maria and Paolo would decide to start a family and she would eventually give birth to their one and only son named Mark. Mark would grow up loved dearly by his parents, doing all that they can to make sure that he is happy and that the reality of their situation doesn't burden him as much. Maria would be forced to take multiple one-month long jobs to help the family get by. She would also often attend piano recitals to get to learn more about the piano. This is how she comes to know of Nicole Lacsamana's original piece "Time is Tearing Us Apart". She would play this to a young Mark, who would remember a part of the tune many years later. She eventually gives up her dream of becoming a musician when she realizes that she must commit to seeking employment abroad to provide a better future for Mark. Mark didn't want her to go, but she went anyway. She would later try to come back home to try mend their relationship but she is never seen again as her flight vanished in a storm, assumed to have crashed somewhere in the ocean. As with the nature of aircraft landing into the ocean, the search was difficult and this difficulty was magnified by the lack of resources and manpower to help with search and rescue efforts. Upon somehow seeing that their loved ones, Mark Borja and Nicole Lacsamana, are suffering from grief because of their disappearance, they both agree to help each other by making the two of them meet. It is implied that they've seen the future where the two of them do meet and help each other with cope with their loss years after the fact. They come up with the idea of the Ruling, a supernatural phenomena that shook the whole world. This is the event that causes Mark and Nicole to meet earlier than anticipated. Paolo Borja-Paolo Borja is a man likely in his late thirties to early forties. He has black hair and sports a goatee and mustache. He's always seen wearing his necklace, which is simply a round metallic object with the letter "M" inscribed onto it and attached to a cord.First impression Paolo initially comes off as a stern parent, reminding Mark to spend his money responsibly. General behavior Paolo is a pretty humorous person, comparable to Mr. Lacsamana when it comes to cracking silly jokes. Much like him, Paolo loves his own family dearly. He tries to solve problems in a calm and understanding manner, even when some things offend him such as the landlord charging their family with seemingly unfair interest or when Mark berates his mother. He's never resorted to violence at any point in the story, even if he does seem the most mad at the latter event. He's not foolish or blind to, but aware of injustices. There is simply no reason to call people out for it or argue how unfair something is as it would put their family in a detrimental situation. For most of the story, he carries the struggle of coming to terms with the loss of Maria, the love of his life. Paolo doesn't seem to have a grandiose sense of fashion. He seems to wear things that are either comfortable, appropriate, or at the very least, acceptable. Story Paolo Borja starts a family with Maria Borja. Paolo and Maria would do all they can to make sure that Mark is happy and to not trouble him with their family's socioeconomic perils.
