This isn't an album, it's great literature. Rhymes that send shivers down your spine, tragedies transformed into Queensbridge flow, and absolute arrogance in the last song (my favorite, by the way).

Without a doubt, Illmatic is the best rap album in history (objectively, but everyone has their own opinion, the best album is different).

Nas doesn't snorts cocaine, he snorts rap, he snorts hip hop, making it the masterpiece that, years later, fans would be dazzled by.

It Ain't Hard to Tell: My favorite song. It's not a rap song saying "I'm better, I'm better, I got bitches, I got money, nobody can match me," no.

It's a coronation. Just like that beautiful sample sounds, that's how Nas delivers rap lines that enter your ears, hit your mouth, and give you a true taste of what violent flow is.

Nas claims that no one is better than him. He doesn't just claim it, he reaffirms it, and reaffirms it again. The song title says it all: no one compares to Nas, "It Ain't Hard to Tell"... No one is like Nas. He is the offspring of hip hop, the descendant of this very genre that was lost in trap (trap isn't bad, by the way) and the new era of hip hop.

He is a poet, a great literary critic. He exhales these rhymes, he breathes rhymes, he feels the rhymes, the metaphors, the synonyms, the wordplay.

This is what I meant by Trap, but this isn't Trap, this is nostalgia. It's like getting home after an afternoon with friends in 2017, skating, drinking, laughing, and now you get home, Mom's making your favorite meal, your friends—the same ones you were out with earlier that day— “hop in bro”, the whole group is there, and you know that… the rest of the afternoon and the night are going to be filled with laughter, fails, ragebaiting, playful insults, but more than anything… brotherhood.

That album is full of nostalgia. Definitely one of my favorites to listen to on the bus after a long day.

Possibly the most perfect boom bap album (1999 is slightly better)

The best album with the best bass in history, drum breaks, Q-Tip's flow, clever rhymes, Phife with charisma and energy—it's a perfect duo.

And the production? I'm speechless. Jazz? Boom bap? God… they're geniuses, damn them.

"Buggin' Out": If having the best bass lines were a sport, these guys would be the ultimate Olympic champions. My favorite song of theirs. It's not just the bass; it's how Phife comes in with that charismatic tone to drop one of the smoothest and most delicious rhymes you'll ever hear.

Plus those fucking punchy kicks and those fat snares, I feel like I'm levitating.

Q-Tip arrives, and drops the flow that kills the beat, that tells you "Hey homie, we'll bless your ears, okay? Relax."
