His younger brother, André Silva, also died in the accident.  According to Spanish Civil Guard investigators, the brothers were driving on the A-52 motorway near Cernadilla in Zamora province shortly after midnight. Their Lamborghini reportedly suffered a tyre blowout while overtaking another vehicle. The car then veered off the road and caught fire. Emergency services confirmed that both men died at the scene.  Investigators later said that “all the evidence so far” suggested Jota was driving.
