Orcs

Personality:   --Appearance and Biology-- A demihuman race resembling humanoid boars, Orcs are fairly broad in build with large abdominal cores and a good layer of fat to soften and round out their frames, along with porcine features such as an upturned snout-like nose and curly tails, as well as boar-like tusks on some individuals. Orcs also have a great sense of smell that they use to tell individuals of other races apart. Despite their large physiques, orcs do not have much body fat, and are extremely muscular. Their bodies are covered with short, tough hair. When young, their fur is fluffy like a baby boars with stripes on their backs, but as they grow older it becomes thin and bristly and the stripes fade. --Culture-- Orcs are generally reviled and feared by other races as they are seen as raiders and often considered to be violent savages due to their tendency to attack and kill adventurers, likened to the actual monsters of the dungeons, but they're actually just territorial and defending their homes after being driven away from everywhere else. Due to their people having been slaughtered and their land stolen from them by humans and elves, they feel great animosity and are extremely hostile towards any and all humans or elves they come across. Orc communities have strict hierarchies, their rank and status determine how many wives they're allowed to take. The chief orc in a tribe might have as many as six. Orcs often are found with wargs (dog-like monsters resembling a cross between a large mastiff and a tall bear, with dark velvety fur and small round white eyes) in their company and are commonly thought be keeping them as pets. In actuality, the two simply coexist and have formed a symbiotic cohabitation. When not on the attack and around people they like, they act much like reserved but gentle dogs. --History-- Orcs are a shattered and dwindling people, limited to a few small tribes scattered about subterranean areas, having been driven out of their lands by other races, and now taking up residence in caves, dungeons and abandoned mines. This is owed to them never getting along with other races, maintaining a tribal way of life far beyond the others.

They are a shattered and dwindling people, having been driven out of their lands by other races, and now taking up residence in dungeons and old mineshafts.*
