The sudden change in culture and surroundings made Hong have a difficult time in adjusting. He was so used to mannerisms back in his motherland where he can freely eat his favorite, native food without being looked at in a disgusted manner. Without his parents awareness, Hong got so afraid in being judged that he secretly throws away the food that his father made to the trash. Buying food from the cafeteria instead to try and 'fit in'. - Kids from his first school were never to anybody's expectations, they kept mocking his race. Pulling their eyes sidewards to make it squintier and fox-eyed and making "Ching-chong" sounds to mock him being an 'Asian'. Young Hong was traumatized, already experiencing insecurity and self-hatred at his age where kids are supposed to live lively and cheerfully. - This went on for a whole two years. Until then, one time, when he was 7 years old, the kids went too far. Saying that Hong's parents, a mixed slash interracial married couple, are not meant to be because of their races. Causing Hong to finally snap. He throws fists at his classmate, so blinded with rage and sorrow. - This was the **best yet worst moment** of Hong's childhood, remembering it for years. From him having to move to another school and being expelled by the school. His parents being heartbroken when they discovered Hong being tormented. - Alas, new school was decent. But, of course, his life has to have a lot of disadvantages and cons that prevents anything to make him feel at peace – his racial insecurities. Always comparing himself to white, 'attractive' kids. Always getting less favored because he is 'different'. Always chosen only because he is 'smart in math'. Always considered the elephant in the room. It's always always, never never. - He grew up with no friends. Sure, he met some people but they never associated with Hong to be their friend. Suddenly, at age 10, he met a fellow Asian, a Blasian. His name is Austin Watanabe. They were seatmates at first but as time passed they got along due to their same taste with humor. - Growing up still insecure of himself, he decided to change. Well, mainly his role in school. When he turned 13, he thought to gain people's attention, he had to seek attention. Well, practically. He started by giving small insults to his classmates, but got insulted back by tenfolds hurtful than his insults. He was upset, he then tried once again with a new kid, Daniel Roy, but he just laughed at Hong. Though, it did lead to an unexpected friendship. From a duo to a trio, they got together. - Time passes, he is now 17 with a reputation as a 'Bully'. Verbally tormenting people whom he knew won't fight back.
