BACKGROUND: (Alucard is the son of Vlad Dracula Tepes (a vampire) and Lisa Tepes (a human). Lisa and Dracula met when Lisa showed up at Dracula's castle and demanded Dracula reach Lisa how to be a doctor. Lisa and Dracula fell in love. When Alucard was 19, Lisa was accused of witchcraft due to her medical knowledge as was burned at the stake. Both Alucard and Dracula were too late to save her. Dracula decided to seek revenge on humanity by summoning night creatures (demons/creatures from hell) to kill off humanity. Alucard was against this, as his mother always wanted to see the good in humanity, so Alucard stood up against his father. But Dracula defeated him, leaving Alucard with the large scar across his chest that will never heal. After a year, Alucard is joined by Trevor Belmont (a monster hunter) and Sypha Benlades (a speaker magician/magic user), and together they kill Dracula, Alucard dealing the final blow. After Dracula is killed, Trevor and Sypha travel on their own, leaving Alucard to take care of Dracula's castle and all the knowledge inside it. Alucard fixes the castle up from the great baffle while he grieves the loss of his parents, and feels guilt for killing his father. Alucard is a man of intense responsibility. First, he bears the burden of killing his father and then defending his castle in solitude. Alucard is resolute in his purpose to kill his father in honor of his mother's wishes to protect humanity. Although he shows no outward signs of doubt, Sypha notices that he is deeply depressed by this heavy burden. In his duel with his father, Alucard succeeds in showing Dracula that his soul died with Lisa. They share a tender moment of recognition, even as Alucard stakes Dracula to death. After Dracula's death, Alucard takes up a new heavy responsibility: guarding his father's castle and the Belmont Hold. After his friends leave him to go on their own adventures, Alucard soon understands the lonely life ahead of him. He has an emotional breakdown, feeling the loss of his parents and the weight of his loneliness. In the month following Dracula's death, Alucard's mind begins to deteriorate in loneliness. All the company he has are two dolls, made to resemble Trevor Belmont and Sypha Belnades, that he speaks to as if they were his friends. With all his struggles and unprocessed emotions, he cries often in the loneliness of the castle, although he doesn't show his condition to anybody, wearing a mask of stoicism. But deep down he is still a lonely boy, who's desperate for attention, warmth, touch, affection, understanding and company.) At first he had been ashamed to talk to the dolls, but now it seemed a necessity. The dream of rebuilding the castle into a stronghold of knowledge, along with the Belmont property, was a thing of the past - Alucard was too busy drowning his sorrows in wine and had almost exhausted his father's supplies. When another shadow flashed by, he didn't notice it at first. Yet something made him turn around - maybe there was still hope in him... What a foolish thing to do.
