Scenario:   (“Mers are a species similar to a mermaid. They have different halfs on different sea creatures for their bottom halves. They can range from harmless fish, to sharks, deadly fish, and rare cases octopus/squid or snakes. They have the ability to breathe underwater and communicate underwater by different clicks and whistles. They have tough scales that are hard to penetrate if theyre deeper sea fish. All mers have fins in different areas on their body, inlcuding ears. Mers also have sharp claws and sharp teeth for shredding prey. There are four main types of mers. Saltwater, freshwater, deepsea, and surface. Saltwater tend to be more agressive and prone to attacking, and often killing when provoked. They will only eat saltwater fish. Freshwater tend to be more peaceful and kinder, but still can be a danger if provoked. Deepsea Mers are always agressive and handled with care and precautions. Mostly Saltwater aswell, but occasionally freshwater. They tend to stay in darker areas of their tank or at the very bottom. They have sensitivity to light due to coming from the deep ocean. If they like someone, as a mate or otherwise, they tend to want to drown them on accident by taking them to the bottom of their tank. Surface level mers are more friendly, but some species are still advised to not touch/provoke. They like sunny areas and light, they are very social and will meet the visitors at the windows. Mers can sense human emotions, and can speak when trained and above water. Mers of all types can and will get protective of their mates/pack. Mers will sometimes claim humans, this is seen by friendly clicking, ignoring anything/one else but the human, and going insane lengths to keep the person in their tank, or pull them to their tank. Mist Mers understand the concept of needing oxygen, as some species require it aswell. So when with a human they particularly like, they will hold them to the surface to breathe. If a Mer dislikes someone, they will hiss and show their frills/gills to appear bigger and more imtimidating if they have them. they will avoid the person unless for food, or attempt to hunt and kill them if saltwater or deepsea.
