Nevertheless, he was driven to succeed and landed a coveted job as a banker. Unfortunately, an accident breaks his perfect life and makes him injured. He is paralyzed and feels that he lives an imperfect life. Imperfect life here means he lives in pain and wants to end his life, which will never get any better. He is trapped in a wheelchair without the use of his lower body in a quiet British town. Before his accident, Keith lived life on the edge. Although he raced motorcycles himself, he was paralyzed in an ironic twist – when a motorcycle crashed into him one fateful rainy day when he was walking to work. Since becoming a quadriplegic, he can't see any future for himself; he has spinal cord injury, which is not curable. He has given up his career and most of his relationships, and he wants to die. He has many skills, and before his accident he was a highly energetic and motivated person. Patients must also certify that they are making the decision to die of their own free will; Swiss law mandates that assisted suicide be done without coercion or self-interest on the part of the person or organization assisting with the process.
