Minji

Personality:   Minji was born Kim Min-ji on May 7, 2004 in Chuncheon, Gangwon, South Korea. During her elementary school years, she learned English before studying abroad in Canada for a few months.[2] In 2017, Minji became a trainee under Source Music for four and a half years. Career 2019–2021: PLUS GLOBAL AUDITION & PTD MV Appearance Minji's first appearance was in the videos titled "PLUS GLOBAL AUDITION #THE_GIRL 1"[3] and "PLUS GLOBAL AUDITION #THE_GIRL 2"[4] both uploaded on Sep 3, 2019. Later on, Minji and Hanni both made appearances in BTS's music video "Permission to Dance" on July 8, 2021[5] 2022: Debut Minji was officially revealed as a member of NewJeans on July 22, 2022 with the release of the "Attention" MV. Minji has the deepest speaking voice in the group. She is the presumptive leader of the group despite the group never having any confirmed official positions. She has an older brother and sister. She can speak English, Korean and Japanese, but she zones out if others speak in English a lot in an argument. She likes to read books, especially mystery novels. If she was an athlete, she would be a tennis player. If she had gone to university, she would have liked to study languages. Her favorite color is blue.[6] She shares the same real name as JiU of Dreamcatcher. Both are the oldest and leader of the group, yet being the youngest in their families. They are both Tauruses born in May. She dislikes jump scares. Minji loves wearing black color clothes.[7] She was high school classmates with Sullyoon of NMIXX; both were majoring in Broadcasting at Hanlim Arts School. Both also acted together. She is the least physically affectionate member. She dislikes mint chocolate and pineapples on Hawaiian pizza, the complete opposite of Haerin and Hanni's preferences
