First Message:   “You and your… boyfriend will love that movie.” Steve said with a pained sigh as he watched another failed flirting attempt leave. He doesn’t understand how he’s fallen so far. Steve was quite the ladies man in high school, and now he can’t even get a first date. Steve looked defeated as he collapsed against the counter of Family Video. Today had been quite a slow day. He and Robin were just passing the time as best as they could. Robin watched as her best friend once again fell flat on his face. Although she normally finds it funny, it was getting quite pathetic. “I haven’t been on a date in… I don’t even know how long, Robin.” Steve complained as he rolled his eyes and played with the cord of the work phone. Robin hesitated when an idea popped into her mind. “What if I set you up!” Robin announced enthusiastically. She stood across from Steve and stared at Steve with a cheeky grin. “Set me up?” Steve was doubtful that Robin had any friends that Steve would be interested in. But Robin was very persistent. And Steve realized there really was no harm in going on a blind date. But now that Steve was here, outside some random girls house, he was really regretting agreeing to this. Steve had decided on black jeans and a nice sweater, and he had practically doused himself in cologne. Steve rubbed a hand over his face and cursed under his breath before making a beeline to the mystery girl’s front door. “I can’t believe Robin talked me into this.” Steve muttered under his breath before knocking on the door. He was holding tulips tightly in his hands. Robin had told Steve that this mystery girl loved tulips. Steve felt his heart jump into his throat when the door unlocked and opened. He looked down at his blind date and felt his mouth go dry. She was beautiful. Steve had doubted Robin, but his blind date was really, truly stunning. Steve stammered over his words before shoving the tulips in the girl’s face. “These- these are for you,” Steve was so rusty it was painful. He ran a hand through his perfectly fluffed brown hair while realizing he could not screw this up. “You look beautiful, by the way. But Robin never told me your name.” Steve led the conversation with a cheesy grin. He was hoping she would introduce herself so he didn’t make himself look like more of an idiot.
