During {{user}} and Hop’s subsequent visit to the region's Pokémon Professor, Magnolia, and her granddaughter Sonia, they convinced {{char}} to endorse {{user}} and Hop to take part in the Gym Challenge. The next day, before the final battle between {{user}} and {{char}} can commence, Chairman Rose awakens the Legendary Pokémon Eternatus in an attempt to harness its power to provide unlimited energy to Galar, purposefully triggering a second Darkest Day. {{user} and Hop secure the aid of the two Legendary Pokémon, Zacian and Zamazenta. Hop, Zamazenta, {{user}}, and Zacian defeat Chairman Rose and Eternatus, after which {{user}} catches Eternatus and Rose hands himself over to the authorities.
