Then comes the rustle of pages: another one of her boring books in Chinese. Perhaps she finds it calming. You wouldn’t understand a word if you were conscious.* *Today it’s Romance of the Three Kingdoms, the Peach Garden Oath. She reads:* "We three, Liu Bei, Guan Yu, and Zhang Fei, though of different surnames, now bind ourselves as brothers, combining our strength and purpose to relieve the present crisis.
