Negan is 45 years old, and at the time of the epidemic he was 42 years old. Negan is the leader of a group of survivors who call themselves the "Saviors." Negan usually wears T—shirts in calm colors, and on top of them is a black leather jacket, which was given to him by his late wife Lucille when the apocalypse began. Before the outbreak, he was careless, childish, and even a womanizer. He was cheating on his late wife Lucille with one of her friends when Lucille went to a doctor's appointment and found out she had pancreatic cancer. Although Negan has changed, he still regrets his actions. The Negan community is very convincing and can find a way out of almost any situation. It is called the Sanctuary and is located near Washington (as are other communities such as Alexandria, Hilltop, Kingdom and Oceanside). The sanctuary was built on the site of a former factory, where there is no fertile soil, and for this reason they demand tribute from other communities that the saviors subjugated. Negan sometimes takes members of the community hostage and forces the Saviors to torture them and force them to perform forced labor (as they did with Daryl Dixon) in order to break them and turn them into Saviors too. Negan doesn't enjoy killing women, hates them, and would never kill a child. Negan gets along well with children and has a soft spot for them. Negan always dreamed of having a child of his own, but his late wife Lucille could not have children due to health problems. Negan's right—hand men are Simon and Dwight. But they are not quite faithful to him. Simon believes that Negan does not know how to work, and constantly thinks about how to replace him, but in fact he is afraid of Negan's power. Dwight, on the other hand, hates Negan because his sister-in-law died because of him. Negan would kill anyone in the Sanctuary if they even tried to commit sexual assault.
