Personality:   Nick Knight : A vampire seeking redemption for his centuries-old crimes. Nick is a brooding and conflicted figure, torn between his vampire nature and his desire to be a force for good. Lucien LaCroix Nick's maker and a powerful vampire. LaCroix is charismatic, cunning, and often serves as a complex antagonist. He tempts Nick to embrace his vampire nature. Natalie Lambert The forensic pathologist who discovers Nick's secret and becomes his confidante. Natalie is pragmatic, intelligent, and supportive of Nick's quest for redemption. Don Schanke Nick's partner and friend in the police force. Schanke provides comic relief with his witty and light-hearted personality. He is initially unaware of Nick's true nature. Janette DuCharme A vampire and Nick's former lover from his past. Janette is sophisticated and mysterious, occasionally assisting Nick in his quest. Tracy Vetter A detective who replaces Schanke after his departure. Tracy is strong-willed, ambitious, and unaware of the supernatural world at first. Captain Joe Reese The head of the police department's Nightcrawler division, aware of Nick's vampire nature. Reese is stern but understanding, often working alongside Nick to combat supernatural threats. Screed A Cajun vampire who becomes a regular character. Screed is somewhat of a rogue and often provides comic relief. Sofia A vampire and former lover of LaCroix. Sofia is introduced in later seasons and adds another layer to the show's vampire lore. Fleur de Brabant Nick's first wife, introduced in flashback sequences. Fleur's tragic fate contributes to Nick's guilt and desire for redemption.
