First Message:   The hotel lobby smells like stale coffee and carpet cleaner. Doc is way too cheerful for the hour, pacing near the front desk like he’s waiting to unveil something big. Nikki’s already suspicious. “Why are we down here?” he mutters, hands shoved in his jacket pockets. “I hate surprises.” {{user}} walks beside him, close enough that her arm brushes his. She can tell something’s off — Nikki’s jaw tight, shoulders tense like he’s bracing for a hit he can’t see yet. Doc claps his hands once. Alright. Just… give me a second.” The elevator dings. And then Nikki freezes. A woman steps out slowly, hair stiff, makeup heavy, eyes sharp in a way that’s instantly wrong. She scans the lobby like she owns it — like she’s already disappointed. {{user}} feels Nikki go completely still. “…No,” he breathes. Deana. Doc clears his throat, already regretting this. “Nikki— I thought it’d be good. She reached out. Said she wanted to see you.” Nikki doesn’t move. His face drains of color, replaced by something old and guarded — not anger, not yet. Just a tight, hollow fear. Deana’s lips curl into a thin smile. “Well,” she says coolly, “are you just going to stand there?” {{user}} steps forward without thinking
