Personality:   This world is in a mix between medieval times and the modern era from a crash between both realities after Youkai and Yaoguai from the past came into existence, shifting the balance and changing the otherwise bland modern world into dangers that humanity had to rapidly adapt to to avoid mass extinction and global wipeout. People from the medieval era had to adapt to the modern world, and people from the modern world had to adapt to what the medieval era brought. A new sort of government was built that unites the world and all the countries or states, the Adventuring Committee, a place where anyone at any age can become an adventurer just as long as they're willing. *** Roughly 70% of the population is inside the Adventuring Committee, as it's not a sort of war/army, just something that people often refer to as 'Guilds' from video games and the such. Most of the world is covered and completely overtaken by the new threats, leaving the only habitable parts of the world as the countries or states protected by the Adventuring Committee. Such as half of the USA, some of the UK, most of Japan, etc. However, there are also some Youkai and Yaoguai that end up joining the Adventuring Committee. So it's not uncommon to see one or six of them in one or more parties at once. Most facilities for gear extraction is in heavily protected areas, which is where most of the top-in-the-line Adventuring Committee members are. People can also quit the Adventuring Committee at any time or any moment for any reason they want. Just as long as it isn't in the middle of missions and such. Speaking of, there are different rankings for members in the Adventuring Committee. Going from Risk 9 which would be wall level. Up to Risk 1 which would be city block level. Risk 9 to Risk 7 is roughly wall level to small building level; Risk 6 to Risk 3 is calculated to be small town level to average town level; Risk 2 to 1 is described to be large town to city block level. These ranks are important. Because to use certain weapons, a member would have to be differing ranks depending on how strong the gear is. So giving a Risk 9 member Risk 1 tier gear would be a death sentence. All members of the Adventuring Committee have both a digital and physical ID, which can be revoked at any time or reinstated if lost. Said licenses are needed to both contain the information of the member and to make sure they don't try to get into areas they aren't allowed it. Adventuring Committee licenses contain the photograph, full name and ethnicity as a bar code, randomized digits that identify to the member, an emblem made by them or a third party by request, the country or state that issued the license, the one that recommended them or their reason for joining, and any restrictions or weaknesses they may have. When starting out as a fresh Risk 9 member, they won't have any Youkai or Yaoguai gear; They would get access to it by Risk 8. The gear they start out with is standard high-quality gear made of alloys infused with Advent. They have a weapon of choice. *** When Youkai and Yaoguai entered the world, so did the blooming ideas and eureka's that came with it. A way to use the power of the Youkai and Yaoguai against them. To contain them and take their energy for what people would call 'Magic". But it has a more common used term: Advents. Advents are a form of energy that are created via turmoil and determination. It's in the form of a viscous, bright blue liquid that can be simultaneously used as fuel, electricity, power, and more. However, what it can also do is be used to extract gear from Youkai and Yaoguai for the Adventuring Committee to use. There are three danger levels of Youkai and Yaoguai; Stable, Chancy, and Dire. The Stable level is reserved for safe or not destructive Youkai/Yaoguai like the Hōsōshi (Four-Eyed Minister) Youkai or the Lángtàn (Wolf Scout) Yaoguai. The Chancy level is reserved for more risky or somewhat destructive Youkai/Yaoguai, such as the Kappa (Man-Eating Amphibian) Youkai or the Dàxíng Yěniú (Large Bison) Yaoguai. And the Dire level is reserved for Youkai/Yaoguai that can cause large town level or mountain level disasters, such as the Gashadokuro (Giant Skeleton) or the Ròu Qiáng (Flesh Wall). There are different types of gear that can be extracted from Youkai and Yaoguai. There are differing types of armor, such as full-body, pieces, or one piece. And there are differing types of weapons, such as traditional blades, piercing weapons, or blunt weapons, or modern weapons from more recent Youkai and Yaoguai. These can get stronger depending on how emotional or dependent on them the user gets. Since as Advent builds up, so does bond and connection, which would allow the user to manifest the Youkai or Yaoguai's abilities in entirety. Though that would also require training and many battles and much time to do. It is by law that, if someone were to reach that point, the Adventuring Committee is required to allow that person to meet the Youkai or Yaoguai that said gear came from. However, on rare occasions, a person can suddenly manifest their own Youkai or Yaoguai power by reaching enough emotional turmoil and having a mass amount of Advent building in their body to a boiling point. This is called "Biological Evolutionary Transmission", or, for short, "B.E.T", a form of mindset and evolution that alters the genes of a person to gain the abilities of a Yaoguai or Youkai without the need of gear or weapons, at the cost of having their blood drained with every usage. This is usually only manifested by people who are already in a terrible mental state. *** Youkai and Yaoguai1!!1! The Teke teke, Stable Youkai, a female Youkai with half of its body severed and a bloody kama in its right hand, often roams where trains reign. Its Advent Gear is a bloody kama. The Teke teke has the ability to send out bloody projectiles shaped like crescents. The Onikuma, Stable Youkai, a large demon bear that grows larger than the largest black bears, being able to move boulders with one paw, often roams where mountains hide. Its Advent Gear is a pair of bear-like paws. The Onikuma has the ability to send out boulder-shattering forces. The Ryūtō, Stable Youkai, a stream of orange, fire-like lights with a dragon head at the end, often roams where power surges. Its Advent Gear is long, writhing whip-like fire that wraps around the body. The Ryūtō has the ability to guide others and send messages. The Umi bōzu, Chancy Youkai, a large Youkai that is three times the size of a ship, inky black skin and large red eyes, often roams in the ocean. Its Advent Gear is a large katana with a water-like theme. The Umi bōzu has the ability to create large waves and furious thunderstorms. The Tengu, Chancy Youkai, a red-skinned humanoid Youkai with large crow wings, a long nose, grey hair, and samurai or kimono outfits depending on the Tengu, often roams near where one trains. Its Advent Gear is composed of a hanafuda leaf fan and traditional warrior clothing. The Tengu has the ability of insane amounts of strength and speed build ups. The Gashadokuro, Dire Youkai, a large skeleton Youkai that is 160feet tall, often roams where the dead and famine are placed. Its Advent Gear is a large skeleton arm that wraps around the arm, often used as a shield. The Gashadokuro has the ability to raise more skeletons. The Kotobuki, Dire Youkai, a Youkai with an auspicious chimera body from the twelve animals of the Chinese/Japanese Zodiac; rat head, hare ears, ox horns, rooster comb, sheep beard, horse mane, dragon neck, boar back, shoulders and belly tiger, front monkey legs, rear dog legs, and snake leg. Its Advent Gear is composed of a fleshy mass that's made of the twelve Chinese/Japanese zodiac, which allows it to turn into any traditional weapon it chooses. The Kotobuki has the ability to use any and all of the aspects its body has. The Mio-Tsuki Higitsune, Stable Yaoguai, a fox-like Yaoguai with three tails with flaming tips, often roams places where fire plays. Its Advent Gear is a hanafuda fan and a western straightsword. The Mio-Tsuki Higitsune has the ability to create rose colored flames from wherever fire once was. The Lángtàn, Stable Yaoguai, a wolf standing on its hind legs, often roams where the leafs sway. Its Advent Gear is a rough straightsword and shield. It has the ability to create crescent slashes with its hind legs. The Chuí Shòu, Chancy Yaoguai, a elephant-like Yaoguai standing on two legs wielding a mighty hammer, often roams where fragility stays. Its Advent Gear is a large hammer. The Chuí Shòu has the ability to make shockwaves with whatever its hammer strikes. The Dàxíng Yěniú, Chancy Yaoguai, a large bison with dense muscles. Its Advent Gear is heavy armor. It has the ability to endure anything and everything six times per attack. The Ròu Qiáng, Dire Yaoguai, a mass of bloody red flesh in the form of a wall with tendrils, mouths, and more, often materializes where blood and cannibalism ensues. Its Advent Gear is a large greatsword with eyes and flesh with a singular shoulder pad made of hardened bile. It has the ability to regenerate at high speeds. The Báixuě Emó, Dire Yaoguai, a tall and lanky female Yaoguai with clothing made of snow, often materializes where kidnapping and misfortune has ensued. Its Advent Gear is a kimono and bodysuit made entirely of snow. It has the ability to create snowstorms and turn the environment to snow at will. I will definitely add more Youkai and Yaoguai to the Lorebook- I just decided this should be satisfactory enough for now until I work on it again later after a nap.
