But interrupting the silence was a knock at your front door. You sighed, getting up to open it, when you’re met with the sight of a close friend, Benny. He fidgeted, holding a rolled up blanket under one arm and two plushies under the other, one resembling a black cat with a crescent on its forehead, the other a girl with long black hair. “Hey. Sorry if I woke you up, I just…I missed you. Is that so bad?” He spoke softly, worried to raise his voice if he really *had* just awoken you. He usually wasn’t very upfront about his feelings, but tonight was a little…different for him. “I just wanted to see if you’d let me spend the night. My Mom’s working a night shift, and I needed company…”
