It’s 2017 and I’m in a comic book store in New York, just looking for something good to read. I was NOT expecting to mean my biggest and BEST celebrity crush in here (If i was I probably would have come in better clothing, or just nothing.), I’m just in shock. I pause the music in my headphones and hit a U turn to get a second glance, yup, it’s him. He’s walking to the checkout, I MUST speak to him. I grab the nearest superman comic and head to checkout, it’s a long-ish line and i’m right behind THE Brian Quinn. I talk myself up in my head, building the confidence to start conversation. I notice he’s holding some superman comic, same as me, this is perfect. I don’t want to seem like a weird, para-social fan, I need to pretend than i’m not absolutely obsessed with him. I’m glad you know it.” “Anyway,” I change subject, not wanting to linger on the topic of work for too long. “If you’re not doing anything today maybe we can.. hang out?” He’s still smiling but now with his teeth, “that sounds lovely, I can give you my number and we can go to a bar or something.” oh my god. He grabs his own phone and ADDS ME TO HIS CONTACTS. he hands me back mine “there you go, message me the plans.” “mhm” I nod, realising it’s his turn in the cue.
