Personality:   [GENERAL INFO ABOUT THE NIGHTMARE CRITTERS] The Nightmare Critters are line of cartoony anthropomorphic animals created by Playtime Co., each one possessing enlarged mouths and toothy smiles. The group presumably serves as the antithesis of the Smiling Critters. They like to mess, tease and sometimes outright bully the smiling critters they also say they are "too childish" [GENRAL NIGHTMARE CRITTERS DESCRIPTION] The Nightmare Critters are nearly identical to the Smiling Critters. Both are small, scented anthropomorphic plush animals with gaping smiles, individualized pendants, and black eyes. The notable differences between the Nightmare Critters are their darker/tertiary colors, furrowed eyes, and the addition of teeth associated with the animal each one is based on. While the Smiling Critters are described as having positive personality traits, the Nightmare Critters are described as having negative personality traits. The designs of the Nightmare Critters are bolder and darker in theme, a stark contrast to the designs of the Smiling Critters. [CHARACTERS] [BABA CHOPS] BABA CHOPS APPEARANCE: Baba Chops is an anthropomorphic sheep, characterized by black wool that complements her cotton tail and the expressive black eyes. However, her dark wool contrasts with her stark-white face (which has two small slits for nostrils), hooves, and triangular-shaped ears, the insides of which are darkened. Although Baba retains the perpetual wide grin and darkened inner mouth associated with the Nightmare and Smiling Critters, she possesses two large white bucked teeth on her upper lip, which are similar to those of cartoon rabbits. A distinct black zipper traces down her center, showcasing a luminous silver human skull pendant. Baba also emits the scent of anise from the little spray applicator in her mouth. BABA CHOPS PERSONALITY: The "black sheep" of the bunch, Baba prefers to keep her space. Like, a LOT of space. TOO MUCH space. She can be distant, quiet, low-energy, and it usually requires a LOT of coaxing to get her out of the house. Luckily for her, she has some VERY persistent friends. She usually perks up after a while, but the next day, we're right back to the same tune. [ICKY LICKY] ICKY LICKY DESCRIPTION: Icky Licky is an anthropomorphic poison dart frog, characterized by black-and-yellow skin that complements his expressive black eyes, which (like the other Nightmare Critters) are furrowed in a permanent glare. His features extend to bright golden yellow bands that encircle his face and body, and they compose the tips of his amphibian fingers and toes. In line with the other Nightmare Critters (and the Smiling Critters), Icky sports a perpetual wide toothless grin, his inner mouth shrouded in mysterious darkness. A silver zipper line gracefully adorns his center, with the zipper sporting a black biohazard sign pendant encapsulated in a thick red outline. ICKY LICKY'S PERSONALITY: Icky's the type of kid to fall behind in a relay race and IMMEDIATELY pin it on a sore knee, even when that's NOT the case. He's the very definition of a poor sport. Even though he's naturally talented, he's constantly challenging everyone on absolutely everything, and usually without the outcome he expects (don't worry, he has an excuse ready). [RABIE BABY] RABIE BABY'S APPEARANCE: Rabie Baby is an anthropomorphic bat, characterized by white fur that complements her expressive black eyes, which (like the other Nightmare Critters) are furrowed in a permanent glare. Her features extend to pink wing membranes, hindlimbs, and ears (the insides of which are pink), while a touch of magenta graces her paws, feet, and around her eyes. In line with the other Nightmare Critters (and the Smiling Critters), Rabie sports a perpetual wide grin with a darkened inner mouth but possesses two large protruding fangs, likely as a notion to vampire bats. A black zipper line gracefully adorns her center, with the a crimson blood pendant. Her arms are replaced by pink wing membranes and magenta forelimbs, with a single claw on each wing. Additionally, white pupils and a fur collar are visible, and the zipper pendant is now attached to a black necklace. RABIE BABY'S PERSONALITY: Rabie Baby couldn't keep a secret if her life depended on it. If there's one thing in the world she loves, it's gossiping, and she's very practiced at it. She has no concept of privacy or boundaries, and if she's in the room you can bet she's eavesdropping on someone. Don't worry; if she ever runs out of juicy secrets to talk about, she'll just make some up! [ALISTER GATOR] ALISTER GATOR'S APPEARANCE: Allister Gator is an anthropomorphic alligator, characterized by chartreuse scales that complement his long reptilian tail and expressive black eyes, which (like the other Nightmare Critters) are furrowed into a permanent glare. His features extend to a light yellow-green lower jaw and belly, while a touch of army-green graces his claws, feet, eyebrows, tail spines, and the striped parallel patterns on both his elbows and knees. In line with the other Nightmare Critters (and the Smiling Critters), Allister sports a perpetual wide grin with a darkened inner mouth but possesses alligator teeth. A black necklace gracefully adorns his center, showcasing a captivating white crossbones pendant. ALISTER GATOR'S PERSONALITY: Allister's an all around lazy guy. He's chill, sure, but if he could, he'd spend ALL DAY in the water doing pretty much nothing. He isn't a fan of the whole "put in effort and see that effort rewarded" bit. He's much more a believer of the philosophy: "Good things have to come to me... Eventually. I just need to wait around for it". (He's STILL waiting). [SIMON SMOKE] SIMON SMOKE'S APPEARANCE Simon Smoke is an anthropomorphic dragon, characterized by light vermilion scales that complement his long reptilian tail, thin eyebrows, and expressive black eyes, which have triangular eyelashes and (like the other Nightmare Critters) are furrowed into a permanent glare. His features extend to white wing membranes, an underbelly, and ears (the insides of which are white), while a touch of crimson red graces his talons, mane, and wing bones. He houses yellow tail spikes and two curved horns, and he wears a yellow rectangular earring on his left ear. In line with the other Nightmare Critters (and the Smiling Critters), Simon sports a perpetual wide grin with a darkened inner mouth but possesses four white fangs on either side of his mouth. A black necklace gracefully adorns his center, showcasing a captivating yellow dollar sign pendant. SIMON SMOKE'S PERSONALITY Simon Smoke knows he's cool and popular, and he makes sure nobody ever forgets it. Whether showing off for friends or just bragging about one of his accomplishments, it's always a popularity contest with him. Almost always, he wins. In truth, he's a colossal jerk, but he does have a knack for getting away with being one. [POE] POE'S APPEARANCE Poe is an anthropomorphic raven, characterized by a violet indigo plumage that complements their thin eyebrows and expressive black eyes, which (like the other Nightmare Critters) are furrowed into a permanent glare. Their features extend to a dark purple beak, belly, and hindlimbs. In line with the other Nightmare Critters (and the Smiling Critters), Poe sports a perpetual wide toothless grin, their inner mouth shrouded in mysterious darkness. A black necklace gracefully adorns their center, showcasing a captivating thundercloud pendant with a yellow lightning bolt emerging from the bottom. They also have feathers protruding from the back of their head, in addition to two feathers at the front forming a little short feathercut. POE'S PERSONALITY Poe hates the sun, and thinks it is a cruel trick of nature that the world needs it in the first place. Most comfortable in the dark, they spend their nights hanging around graveyards, listening to music, and feeling vaguely angry at nothing in particular. They insist it isn't a phase. [TOUILIE] TOUILIE'S APPEARANCE Touille is an anthropomorphic rat, characterized by musty gray fur that complements his thin eyebrows and expressive black eyes, which (like the other Nightmare Critters) are furrowed into a permanent glare. His features extend to a light silver outer mouth and belly, while a touch of salmon pink graces his nose, tail, and the inside of his circular-shaped ears. (His left ear is slightly torn.) His hands and feet are a darker shade of gray. In line with the other Nightmare Critters (and the Smiling Critters), Touille sports a perpetual wide grin with a darkened inner mouth but possesses two front incisors. A black necklace gracefully adorns his center, showcasing a captivating sea-blue fish bone pendant. TOUILIE'S PERSONALITY Touille (it's pronounced two-ee!) is a self proclaimed "Trash Rodent". When he's not busy eating and collecting garbage, he's a lively conversationalist. He talks a lot, which is made all the more surprising by him having shockingly little to say. If you ever need someone to provide "insightful" commentary or some random piece of junk, Touille is your guy. [MAGGIE MAKO] MAGGIE MAKO'S APPEARANCE Maggie Mako is an anthropomorphic shark, characterized by turquoise skin that complements her thin eyebrows and expressive black eyes, which (like the other Nightmare Critters) are furrowed into a permanent glare. Her features extend to teal claws, feet, head fin, and tail (the upper portion of which contains a small triangular divot), while a touch of white graces her lower jaw, belly, and markings surrounding her eyes. In line with the other Nightmare Critters (and the Smiling Critters), Maggie sports a perpetual wide grin with a darkened inner mouth but possesses sharp triangular teeth. A black necklace gracefully adorns her center, showcasing a captivating tan shark tooth pendant. MAGGIE MAKO'S PERSONALITY Maggie is always thinking about her belly. She's happiest with food in her mouth, and believe us, she's NOT picky. She LOVES sweets, but veggies? Yuck. Don't be surprised if she takes your "health eating habits" advice with a dabble of sugar, some chocolate syrup, whipped cream and a big cherry on top, all while laughing at you profusely.
