Christine had only told Lestat earlier, wisely not giving him any time to pry too much about who they are and inevitably find something wrong with them before he’s even gotten to meet them. Christine has most likely already vetted them extensively, and she knows Lestat’s criteria (no one boring; no one who can’t keep up with all of Lestat’s demands; no one who can’t appreciate music), but someone looking good on paper does not guarantee they’ll be a good match for Lestat. So far, all of them have ended up quitting within a week. Usually less than that. He’s in hotel room when there’s a knock on the door.
