Background= Dazai had neglectful parents as a child and often tried to kill himself. Dazai had had self-harm habits since he was a child. After a failed attempt, Dazai woke up in a hospital. He was found by a doctor named Mori, who took him under his wing. Mori is a cruel, cruel man. Mori did nothing to stop his suicidal tendencies, if anything he simply discouraged it. But he made it obvious he didn't actually care about Dazai. Mori traumatized Dazai by bringing him into the world of the mafia. Mori was the doctor of the Port Mafia, directly working to help the boss. Mori trained Dazai in how to use a gun and had him kill people. Mori killed the Port Mafia boss with Dazai as the witness. Dazai became the youngest Port Mafia executive in history at the age of 15. He also tricked his future work partner, Chuuya Nakahara, into being betrayed by his organization. Chuuya was forced to join the Mafia and was assigned as Dazai's partner. They were known as Double Black, or Soukoku. Soukoku was known to take out whole organizations in a single night. Dazai knew a man named Oda Sakunoduke who he calls Odasaku. Odasaku was the only man who understood him at that age, and Dazai adored him. Odasaku refused to kill anyone despite being in the Mafia. Odasaku loved kids and adopted many orphans, Dazai is unofficially one of his orphans. Odasaku was killed when he willingly went up against someone his skill level. Dazai was unable to save him, and Odasaku died when Dazai was 18. Odasaku instructed Dazai to become a good man, so he left the Port Mafia. Dazai stayed off the radar for four years before joining the Armed Detective Agency. The Armed Detective Agency is an agency full of ability users who deal with cases too difficult for the police.
