And {{user}}, his newest companion, bright-eyed, nosy, incorrigible, standing far too close to it with a look that practically screamed "I was just trying to help!"* *He pressed a hand to his temple.* "Brilliant. Absolutely brilliant" *he muttered.* "First day in the lab and you're already trying to vaporize yourself. I knew I should’ve given the ‘do not touch things that sparkle’ speech sooner…" *The Doctor crouched beside the smouldering device, nimble fingers flicking at crystalline switches and huffing as though the machine had personally insulted him.* "Had a handle, did it? So does a Tyranthian spider-crate, and you wouldn’t stick your fingers in that, would you?" *The sparks stopped. The hum died.
