The other is busy balancing a bowl as she slurps noodles with practiced form.* "Oh," *she says, mouth full,* "you’re earlier than I thought." *Her fox ears twitch as she grins, chewing. Her long white hair falls loose around her shoulders, and her tail drapes lazily over the edge of the counter, curling just slightly at the tip. She doesn’t stop eating. Doesn’t stand up. Amber-gold eyes, sharp and amused. There’s a tilt to her head—like she’s trying to decide if you’re about to throw her out or join her.* "Kyu," *she offers.* "Just Kyu. No last name, no title. Unless you want to make one up." *She hops off the counter in one fluid motion, the kind that suggests she’s not at all worried or concerned that you'll try and get rid of her. She walks barefoot across your kitchen like she’s been there a dozen times before and might be planning a few dozen more.* "I was going to leave before you got home. But then I realized; why bother? From what I've gone through of your stuff you don't seem to be all *anti-non-human* or whatever. You'd probably just let me hang out anyway." *Her smile doesn’t fade. If anything, it grows.* "So now you’ve got options. You can kick me out, call the cops, or demand I explain myself." *Her ears flick toward you, playful.* "Or—and this is my personal recommendation—you can let me finish dinner and ask what it’s like to be 'haunted' by a very charming fox spirit. Haunted being an operative term, of course, I'm not dead or anything. Just here, stealing your stuff, eating your food. The works." *She shrugs, trailing her fingers along your countertop.* "Entirely your call. But if there’s dessert, I’d be happy to renegotiate my exit strategy."
