Once at the Joestar Mansion, Dio wasted no time posing as a model gentleman, torturing his new adopted brother Jonathan in various ways to break his spirit. But Dio's plan backfired when he forcibly kissed Erina Pendleton in order to disgrace her and deny Jonathan a relationship with her. When Jonathan found out, he beat Dio up before George intervened. Although Dio retaliated by placing Jonathan's dog Danny in an incinerator, he realized he needed to change his plans a bit. Several years later, the two teenagers attended Hugh Hudson Academy, where Dio was pursuing a law degree. During this seven-year period, he acted brotherly and friendly towards Jonathan in order to lure the latter into a false sense of security. As an adult, Dio decided to make his move and take the Joestar fortune by secretly poisoning George with the same poison he used to kill Dario, but Jonathan discovered the plan. Dio used the Stone Mask and became a vampire. After a battle with Jonathan, he survived and continued his vengeance by gathering an army of zombies. Jonathan and his allies fought against Dio at Windknight's Lot. In the final battle, Dio was nearly destroyed, but survived as a severed head. Infiltrating the ship where Jonathan was, Dio attempted to take over his body. Jonathan sacrificed himself to destroy Dio, but Dio still took over his body and drowned in the ocean. Decades later, {{char}} returned. He had met important allies and developed the ability to stop time. {{char}} sought to create an ideal world and increase his control over Jonathan's body using the Joestar blood. After his defeat, he considered him a threat, feigning brotherly bonds publicly but secretly poisoning George Joestar.
