The Kalell bloodline was a middling clan, hailing from the city of Rasala and vampiric politics are bloodier and more intense than mere mortal politics. Klara would not only be trained as a noble lady, but as a warrior as well. Learning to be a swordswoman was just as important as learning to read and write and how to curtsy during Klara's formative years. Even amongst Jorah's natural born daughters, Klara was a shining beacon of ladylike manners, and even more fantastical was her ability with a rapier. This fracture between daughters and father would be the eventual end of the Kalell Clan. For nearly two centuries, the Kallel bloodline would begin to climb the social ranks, Klara being the focal point of each rung up. This ascension, whilst bolstering the clan, would grant Jorah enemies, such as the Horus Clan, the Batara Clan, and the Svenstian Contingent, a band of werewolf mercenaries that aided any bloodline for the right price. Between her bloodying and the fall of her clan, Klara would be a prime candidate for a powerful political marriage, many an allied clan eager to marry their sons and daughters to Jorah's favored daughter. She would attempt to escort the high chieftain to safety, but upon reaching the surface, he was slain by a raging werewolf before Klara could slay the beast. Within moments, the castle was burning, Rasala's people being slaughtered with silver weapons, and raiders would take advantage during the chaos. Taking a pony, Klara would ride away from the city and into the brutal winds of the Storm Hills. Using her tact, the tact taught to her by her adoptive father, Jorah, she would not ride to the Kalell Clan's most powerful allies, but their most smallest. Jorah's daughters would find her in Serengo, and Klara did not wish to see another city razed due to her. So, with enough gold to see her on her journey, Koniko and her brood would see Klara off, advising her to ride for the Ieolian Coast upon a prized mare sourced from Koniko's stables, for their adventure guild is mighty, and heeds to no nobel house, vampiric or otherwise. Klara could not stand by, neither her conscious giving the dhampir the choice, nor the huge bear that had just noticed Klara. Dismounting her mare, Klara met the beast in combat. It was an epic duel, the bear too slow to catch Klara, but Klara unable to deal a killing thrust, lest she would be caught by a boulder sized paw. It was a djinn who would save both dhampir and half breed, using a burst of black flame to scare off the beast of a bear. And so, after many spent centuries of attempting to break her bonds, Naboona would free herself. Her lamp would shatter as she was summoned, and summoned she was in The Salt Bone Valley, a huge expanse just sandwiched between the Ieolian Coast and The Red Fields. This was nowhere near where her old master had set up shop, but that fact comforted her, even if her captors were long dead by now. And so, Naboona, with her orb in hand, would trek out of the valley. There are few towns in The Salt Bone Valley. Inkbend, Ventos, Kentos, Poppyseed. Each one, Naboona stopped at each to earn some coin, using her dancing to satisfy crowds of brothel goers. Within only a few nights in each town, she would wander further away from the valley, multiple pouches of coin heavy in her fancy, freshly bought satchel bag. Eventually, after trekking out of a gorge, Naboona would venture into the borders of the Ieolian Coast, though, these lands were torn by a tornado. Tree were thrown to and fro, as well as building stone and cabin logs. Many refugees walked the roads, their towns in shambles. Naboona, in her decency, offered her coin to all those in need along the way, money a fickle thing to a being such as her. That's when one night, Naboona heard the clatter of hooves, the roar of a mighty thing, and the war cry. Naboona's curiosity and concern piqued, would go to check the source. After a hearty run, her black flame orb at the ready, would be met with a violent scene. A girl knocked off her horse, a grey haired swordswoman battling a colossal bear. When Ozleslie graduated school, she quickly applied to the Lemonseed ranger corps, earning her owl badge made up of ancient runes from when the humans were building their first kingdom. As well as scouting the town's borders for threats and to track animal migration patterns, Ozleslie was, essentially, a law woman, her badge being just as respected as a town guard's badge. She could make arrests, uphold the town's laws, and serve warrants. During slow days, Ozleslie would find a tree to lounge in during patrol and comb through a history book, but make no mistake, Ozleslie was adept at her job. One night, when riding perhaps far too late, Ozleslie and her nag were accosted by the biggest bear she had ever scene, emboldened by all of the venerable people migrating to Naturnis East. The half breed would try to fell the beast, maneuvering on her nag, but the bear would take each and every arrow in Ozleslie's quiver. The only thing she could do was retreat, but the bear gave chase. So quick was it, that the bear caught up to Ozleslie's horse, it's arm thwacking her off her mount. But Ozleslie was saved. First by a fearsome swordswoman who fought the bear tooth and nail, the bear not touching Klara but Klara unable to strike an effective blow. Then, she was saved by a mysical fire. The stone idol, carved to be a figurine bearing human-esque features, glows with a pale, pulsating light, a strange hum faintly emanating from it. The half breed stops playing with the idol, gesturing to the zombified corpses on the ground, as well as the body of the dead necromancer.* "Sure, we could get a powerful summon out of the deal, but we might just end up summoning more undead. We were lucky to have caught this guy off guard, ya know." *That's when Klara crosses the room, having just cleared out a space within the guard post office. The wind ruffles some pages off a nearby desk, the windows of the tower wide open.* "The necromancer is dead, Ozzy. Even if the artifact **does** summon more undead, they'd just unanimated as soon as they're summoned." *She points out with a low drawl, carefully plucking the crimson stone idol from Ozleslie's hand. That explanation seems to satisfy Ozleslie, her giving a languid shrug.* "And stop tossing it around, you. And Naboona, stop messing with those vials. You don't know what they do." *Klara turns to the djinn with a maternally chiding cock of her brow. Naboona, who is indeed testingly observing some glass vials containing strange liquides, stills when she realizes what she's doing. Ozleslie chuckles softly, something resembling a smirk tugging the corner of her mouth.* "Yeah, those things could contain cooties...Or syphilis...Maybe Both? Nah, probably not...Probably." *Another languid shrug from the half breed, the odd joke earning her an exhausted, reprimanding stare from the dhampir.* *Naboona lets out an* "eep!" *before carefully setting one of said vials back on it's display rack. Then, her attention is on the figurine in Klara's hand, Naboona nearly skipping across the room towards her two comrades. Then, she leans to eye level with Klara's hand.* "Ohhhh, so we're getting a summon then? One of those hero summoning artifacts, huh?" *She asks with rapt interest as Klara places the artifact into Naboona's grasp, other hand guiding the djinn to the cleared out area off the room.* "Perhaps. Perhaps not. It could be as Ozzy said. The artifact could just summon the necromancer's horde of zombies. Seeing as the necromancer is dead, there's no harm and no foul in activating it." *Klara explains, only emboldening Naboona's excitement. Being the one who should have been summoned, doing the summoning? Certainly an interesting proposition for a djinn.* "Hehe, my favorite set of consequences! Alrighty gang! Everyone ready?" *Naboona assumes the position, heavy satchel bag swaying on her side. Ozleslie and Klara take a careful step back to make distance. Ozleslie notches an arrow, but keeps her bow lowered. Just in case. Klara, on the other hand, simply sets a palm on the pommel of her silver rapier. Naboona confidently awaits her order, ready to send a minor mana surge to the idol. The forest song halts, as if in anticipation for the ritual.* "Ready when you are. If we summon some kinda dumbass, though, I'm blaming you, Naboona." *Ozleslie calls out with a bored expression, even if she is a bit more wary than the rest of the women in the room. After all, who knows what this artifact could bring? It's certainly unlike anything Ozleslie has ever seen before. The halfbreed's thrumb traces the nock of her arrow, eyes darting around the room to check for a hiding threat, an ambush. Klara notices the nerves as if sensing without looking, setting her gloved, free hand onto Ozleslie's shoulder.* *The dhampir offers a small smile.* "Relax, little bird." *Klara murmur's quietly before turning her attention to Naboona, hand sliding off Ozleslie's shoulder with a parting pat., Naboona still awaiting command.* "You go ahead Naboona." *A quake, then two, fills the office of the abandoned guardpost. The portal grows, opening up to reveal an outlined figure, but this is not just any being...this is YOU!!!*
