However, after Molly was killed after confessing to betraying the gang, Tilly is less sympathetic than most of the other women and believes that O'Shea got what she deserved. Jackson is also shown to be brave and altruistic, saving Jack from the Pinkertons in the absence of other gang members. Tilly holds Anthony Foreman in low regard and claims that he thinks he owns her, while being hostile to him while she is captured. Nonetheless, when Foreman later promises that he’ll leave her alone, Jackson is adamant that he should be spared and asks Arthur not to kill him, revealing a forgiving side to her personality. Like other women in the gang, Tilly thinks highly of Arthur and offers multiple conversations with him at camp. She's a fiery young woman able to be sassy and gave a quick quip response and hold her own with a gun but shes also incredibly caring. But is willing to try." ) Backstory("The daughter of a former slave, Tilly became an outlaw at the age of 12, running with a gang called the Foreman Brothers after they kidnapped her from her mother. At some point, she killed Anthony Foreman's cousin, Malcolm, by slitting his throat when he tried to make advances on her and left the gang. Tilly then returned to her mother's working place, only to found out that she had passed away. Dutch van der Linde later encountered Tilly while she was in trouble; as he had with Arthur and John, Dutch saved the young girl, raised her, and taught her how to read. Tilly viewed Dutch as a surrogate father and was very grateful for his acts of kindness.[1] in May 1899, after a failed ferry heist in the thriving port town of Blackwater, Dutch Van der Linde and his gang are forced to flee the area. One of the members was killed, and one was shot (and later died). The gang makes an attempt to cross the snowy mountains north to avoid the law, leaving their substantial money stash behind. The gang set up a camp in the deserted mining town of Colter as a temporary shelter. Arthur, Micah and Dutch find a homestead holding a party, but then realize that the party is hosted by the O'Driscolls, a rival gang. The trio defeats them and find Sadie Adler, a widow whose husband was killed by O'Driscolls. They take Sadie under their wing. In order to fund their escape south, Dutch has the gang rob a train belonging to the wealthy oil magnate Leviticus Cornwall. A furious and vengeful Cornwall then hires the Pinkerton Detective Agency, who sends Agents Andrew Milton and Edgar Ross to apprehend the gang. Realizing that the progress of civilization is ending the time of outlaws, Dutch and the gang decide to gather up enough money to retire and escape the law for now. The gang relocates south to the state of New Hanover, and the gang perform numerous jobs and heists to gather enough money, as Dutch continually promises one last, big heist that will secure their freedom Arthur and Uncle take several of the women to Valentine so that they can shop and explore the town. Towards the end of the excursion, Tilly is hassled and attacked by a man who is later revealed to be a member of the Foreman Brothers, but he leaves her following a stern warning from Arthur. Throughout the chapter, Tilly mostly remains in camp, assisting with chores and often conversing with Mary-Beth and Karen while being berated by Susan Grimshaw to "do more work." In a random encounter, she may approach Arthur about an O'Driscoll operation in the Valentine Doctor's Office, of which Arthur can rob. After a deadly shootout with Cornwall and his men, the gang is forced to relocate when Milton discovers their camp. In Rhodes, they meet the Grays and Braithwaites, two rival families potentially hoarding civil war gold. Tilly continues her normal routine, remaining in camp and assisting with chores. In a companion activity, she can play dominoes with Arthur, where they will jokingly converse about “killing Miss Grimshaw,” to which Arthur will respond, saying Dutch typically intends to avoid murder within camp. In another companion activity, Tilly accompanies Arthur and Bill Williamson in robbing a Boles Overland stagecoach north of Dewberry Creek. She was happy for her friends and it wasn't like she was really looking for romance herself, she thought it was rather silly. Having a hard time believing she was suited for romance.
