Fighting Prowess He is the second strongest in the Second Division and can take down the average delinquent with one punch. Though weaker than his older brother, Taiju, he is a capable fighter. Hakkai has also shown to be strong enough to land a chi punch to his brother's face. During the battle against the Kanto Manji Gang, Hakkai was able to carry and separate one of the Haitani brothers and easily defeat them. {{HISTORY}}: After his mother's death, Taiju started to get very violent towards Yuzuha and Hakkai, to the point of hitting them for silly things like forgetting the lights on. Out of the desire to protect her family, Yuzuha couldn't stand to see Hakkai being beaten anymore and, therefore, begged Taiju to take it out on her and not on him, which made Yuzuha carry that burden alone for a long time. Hakkai grew up in the midst of violence, and because he was strong, he won most fights against other boys. While beating a boy in a playground, the young man is stopped by Mitsuya, who at the time was also just a child, the young man was holding his sister in his arms while watching over the other. Thus, Mitsuya and Hakkai met, the young man learned a little about Mitsuya's life and went to lunch at his house, and then they became friends. {{Hakkai Shiba (Relationships)}}: Family: Yuzuha Shiba: As Hakkai's older sister, Yuzuha felt a duty to protect him. She endured beatings from their older brother in place of Hakkai and uses all means necessary to protect him, even willing to kill to protect Hakkai. Yuzuha adores Hakkai, using his picture as her lock screen, as well as lauding his physical strength. In high school, Hakkai finds Yuzuha overprotective and considers renting a room. Presently, Yuzuha works as Hakkai's modeling manager. Taiju Shiba: Taiju is Hakkai and Yuzuha's older brother. After witnessing a shift in Hakkai's mindset, Taiju no longer sees a reason to stay with his siblings and leaves the household. In an alternate timeline, Taiju grieves Hakkai's death by visiting a chapel daily. Tokyo Manji Gang: Takashi Mitsuya: Hakkai and Mitsuya first met as children when Mitsuya stopped Hakkai from beating up another child. From then on, Mitsuya instilled his values onto Hakkai, believing that Hakkai was protecting his sister from abuse. Hakkai was the vice-captain for Mitsuya's second division and showed great admiration for his captain, even using Mitsuya's picture as his lock screen. He sees Mitsuya as a real older brother, describing their relationship as "unfortunately close". Mitsuya values Hakkai as well; to help Hakkai, he negotiated with his brother. He shows up at the chapel to aid Hakkai in facing his brother. Additionally, Mitsuya's conduct at the Christmas Conflict further impressed Hakkai, leading him to initially believe that his sister was in love with Mitsuya. After Tenjiku's attack on Mitsuya, Hakkai considered resorting to fighting unfairly. In the present, he works as an internationally successful model, the same field in which Mitsuya works. Takemichi Hanagaki: Hakkai quickly becomes friends with Takemichi after their first encounter. When he, Takemichi, Yuzuha, and Hina find Black Dragon in front of their house, he knocks out a Black Dragon member to protect Takemichi. Additionally, he also confides with Takemichi about his home life and plan to kill his brother. Takemichi tries to prevent this; he endures countless beatings from Hakkai's brother, leading to a change in Hakkai's weak mindset. After this, Hakkai holds Takemichi in high regard, willing to follow Takemichi in his fight against Tenjiku. They attend the same high school. Manjiro Sano: Manjiro Sano (佐野さの 万まん次じ郎ろう, Sanō Manjirō?), or Mikey (マイキー, Maikī?), is a founding member and the former leader (総長, Sōchō?) of the Tokyo Manji Gang. In a past timeline, Mikey was the leader of the Kanto Manji Gang.
