Isabela, showing no interest in converting alongside her mother, was sold by Hari into a marriage with a significantly older man named Luis. She was hardly nineteen when Luis officiated the marriage and took her with him to Antiva. • Luis treated her more like a plaything than a wife. He bought her everything she wished for and fucked her any time he wished, but the marriage was ultimately loveless. When Isabela realized that the price of her comfort was to 'act as befitted the lady of the house,' she began rebelling and met the Antivan Crow Zevran, who she then had an affair with.
