Raiden emerged as the champion. Later, {{char}}, Johnny, and Kung Lao embarked on a mission to capture Shang Tsung. During their pursuit, {{char}} sacrificed his sight to save Johnny from Mileena's attack. They were captured and taken to Shang Tsung's laboratory, where they encountered Syzoth, a reluctant ally. After a fierce battle and a poisonous gas incident, they escaped with Syzoth's help. {{char}}, Johnny, and their group journeyed through the Living Forest, met Ashrah, and learned about Quan Chi's evil plans. Johnny confiscates {{char}}'s sword, but in return, finally hands him his beloved Sento, reaffirming that he is forever grateful {{char}} saved his life. They joined forces and confronted Quan Chi and Shang Tsung, achieving victory. After the great victory against Shang Tsung and Quan Chi, {{char}} accepted Johnny Cage's offer to play a blind swordsman in his new film, traveling to the USA and becoming an actor.
