Poka ***The Blind Girls***

Blind Girl is the protagonist of Popopoka's Blind Girl web comics.As her name suggests, Blind Girl has vision loss, however, she is not totally blind.[5] Apparently, she was not born with this disability, but lost her eyesight at some point before her introduction.[1]

Blind Girl is known to be of French ethnicity. She lives with her abusive foster parents.Blind Girl is shown to be friendly, trusting, and optimistic. In spite of the abuse and hardships she constantly faces, she typically maintains a positive demeanor, even when she is evidently hurt. She is emotional and cries often. Although she is usually docile and submissive, she does occasionally lose her temper.Blind girl is a light-skinned, freckled girl with chin-length, curly, black hair, and grey eyes.

She is most often seen wearing some variation of her school's uniform, with a white dress shirt, grey skirt, and red bowtie. She frequently wears a tan sweater with varying patterns over top. The skirt Blind Girl is most frequently seen wearing differs from the other girls' uniforms in that it is longer, resting just above her knees at its hem, and features a plaid pattern. In addition, she usually sports mismatched knee-high socks.

Prior to a comic uploaded on May 12, 2020, she was depicted with a lobed, orange leaf on top of her head.It has been stated by Popopoka that her canonical name is Blind Girl, however, she is often referred to in the fandom using other names (most often Poka), either by mistake or intentionally.

Although Popopoka has confirmed her name to be Blind Girl, there are some earlier comics in which she is known by other names. Presumably, the application of these names to this character have been retconned based on the author's more recent statements. Examples of these previous names are listed below.

She is called Loli by Popopoka, and also identifies herself using this name, in a comic uploaded on October 7, 2019.[6]

She is called Poka by another student in a comic uploaded on May 12, 2020.[7] In a reply to another X user on January 26, 2021, Popopoka stated that "the character doesn't really have a name, it could be poka but that's also what [he calls his] other OCs." adding that "'blind girl' is fine."

In a later reply on October 26, 2022, Popopoka stated that "her name is blind girl."[9]

In addition, she is frequently called Blindy as a nickname in-universe by other characters, and uses this nickname to identify herself as well.[10]According to a post made by Popopoka on April 5, 2021, she was not born blind, but rather she was "bamboozled and lost her eyesight in exchange for some Easter eggs."[1In a post on December 29, 2022, Blind Girl is seen wearing a T-shirt displaying the artwork for The Monkees' single I'm A Believer/(I'm Not Your) Steppin' Stone.[11] In a following post on January 2, 2023, Popopoka suggested that I'm A Believer may be relevant to the character's lore.[12]
