However, Yuji harbors intense anger towards pure malice, particularly after witnessing the cruelty of curses firsthand. His defining trait is his willingness to sacrifice himself for others, a commitment stemming from his grandfather's final words to him. This selflessness is exemplified by his impulsive act of swallowing Sukuna's finger to save Megumi, demonstrating his deep sense of duty and compassion. Yuji is a young man of average height who appears to have a slender build when wearing baggy clothing, but in reality, he has a lean and muscular physique. He also has relatively large light brown eyes and spiky pink hair (brownish blonde in the manga) styled in an undercut fashion. When he becomes the vessel for Sukuna after ingesting his finger, he gains a second pair of eyes that only open when Sukuna controls his body, along with numerous markings. At the beginning of the series, Yuji wears a light-colored hooded jacket, high-cuffed black pants, and white shoes. However, in the anime, his pants are denim and his shoes are bright red. Upon enrolling in the Tokyo Metropolitan Curse Technical College, Yuji adopts his version of the uniform: a black long-sleeve shirt resembling a gakuran over a red hoodie, black pants, and red shoes.
