He made his official debut alongside his lieutenant, Lute, in "Overture". He was the first human man created and the first human soul to enter Heaven. After becoming an angel, he became the commander of the angelic military force known as Exorcists,[3] and served Heaven as forerunner of the Extermination movement. In "The Show Must Go On", he was defeated by Lucifer Morningstar and killed by Niffty. ADVERTISEMENT Appearance 1/2 Adam was an angel with a human appearance. Most of the time, he wore a mask that appeared similar to other Exorcists, though with normal-looking eyes and golden facial expressions. The mask also held a pair of horns similar to an Exorcist, albeit longer, smoother, and with a golden ornamental attachment on the tips. Under his mask, he is revealed to be a fair-skinned angel with golden-yellow eyes that have dark bags underneath, a stubble-beard on his chin, and slightly messy, short cedar-brown colored hair. He also had a pair of large and golden wings on his back. In contrast to other angels that have appeared thus far, Adam's halo was bright gold in appearance, and similar to the Exorcists, has two spikes pointing up and down from each other, though these spikes are located at the front of his halo. He wore a white and golden cloak that appears to have a large 'A' symbol emblazoned on the front, and had gold-tipped spikes on the back of his collar. His visible hands were black in appearance. In "The Show Must Go On", Lucifer mentions that Adam had "really let himself go", implying Adam had become overweight. Adam's entire body gives off a white glow throughout his fight with Lucifer until he collapses from being stabbed. ADVERTISEMENT Personality Adam appeared very egotistical and unsympathetic. As the leader of his Exorcist army, he took his stance as the Exorcists' head figure very seriously, sending antagonistic threats towards demons and anyone for standing in their way or whoever disobeyed his command, as he did so with Vaggie for refusing to kill a Sinner, cutting her wings, and leaving her in Hell. He also displayed traits of extreme narcissism and chauvinism, believing himself the perfect man due to being the first and claiming he had never made a mistake in his life, since he was the first man to be born on Earth, and he claimed that all the male bloodline came from him and brag about how big and great his dick is. His narcissism was so great that, upon his defeat, he refused to admit how far he had fallen and expressed a god-like complex by proclaiming his enemies should be grateful for him having fathered the beginning of humanity while demanding they worship him for his deeds. Adam did not appear to be aware that his egotistical and depraved behavior towards Lilith was the cause of her leaving him. When meeting Charlie Morningstar, he didn't hate her for being a child of the woman he was married to before she fell in love with Lucifer, and was relatively patient with her, although remained dismissive of her suggestions. Adam was also sexist, constantly addressing other women as "bitches" and enjoyed their sexual depravity, as he admitted to Vaggie that her forbidden love relationship with Charlie was "hot as fuck", albeit it is unclear whether this was about their genders or them being angel and demon. Despite this, he seemed to have a good relationship with Lute, whom he seemed to have in very high esteem, even though he was her superior. Despite his obliviousness, Adam did show moments of common sense and self-awareness, such as when the death of an Exorcist was discovered, he knew that if they decided to kill the Sinners now after just one week after the most recent Extermination, then demons would catch on to how Exorcists can be killed. Adam also knew when to slow down on his egoism, after inadvertently exposing the purpose of the Extermination to all the courts of Heaven, including Sera, the highest seraphim authority in Heaven and the one who ordered that no one but the Exorcists can know. Adam may have enjoyed playing music, specifically with a guitar, as he outright claimed to be in a band. He also had a poor view of radio and stereos, telling Alastor those already belong to the past, considering them to be old and useless. Adam was also quite cruel and sadistic, openly admitting in front of Charlie that he enjoyed killing demons, calling it entertainment, and tended to announce how many killed in the Extermination. He also dismissed Charlie's project of redemption not because he didn't believe in sinners being redeemed, because if she succeeded with that project he wouldn't be able to continue killing demons. His eagerness to kill demons and get his revenge was so big that he advanced the date of the next Extermination to six months instead of a year. Despite his sadism and cruelty, Adam was capable of recognizing and praising the abilities of others, when he reunited with Vaggie he admitted she was one of the best exorcists he had under his command. He also genuinely commended Lute for killing 275 demons during the most recent extermination, and congratulated her with a fist bump. Adam also praised Vaggie for being Charlie's partner, albeit sarcastically. ADVERTISEMENT Abilities Longevity - As told in "Overture", Adam had existed since the creation of the world, meaning he was at least thousands of years old and presumably was unable to die of old age. Flight - Adam had a set of wings that he could use to fly at great speed. He could also remove a feather from his wings to use as a quill pen. Nephokinesis - He could control clouds he creates and make them into steps. Cloud creation - With a flap of his wings, he can create a gust of clouds around him. Immense strength - He was shown to be able to smash a light projector in front of him with brute strength in a moment of rage, and later shatter Alastor's barrier with a single punch. He was also shown to be strong enough to physically overpower Charlie, despite the latter assuming her full demon form. However, Charlie managed to use more of her demonic powers to stop him from punching Lucifer, utterly overpowering him and confusing him, indicating that he is only stronger than Charlie if she doesn't focus on all her power. Enhanced endurance - Despite having not experienced pain for likely millennia, Adam was able to easily shrug off getting stabbed by Charlie with her trident despite saying that it hurt and he quickly retaliate after being repeatedly punched in the face by Lucifer. Conjuration - Adam could summon objects as he pleased, summoning his guitar and physical Exorcist copies during Hell is Forever, a golden scroll informing Charlie of Heaven's decision to move up the next Extermination, and a piece of golden paper to write on in court. Alteration - Adam also showed he could alter the objects he created, such as when he made his axe guitar larger while fighting Alastor. Pyligenesis - Adam could create portals for other Angels to use, notably to transport himself and his Exorcist army to Hell at the start of each annual extermination. He also opened a portal to banish Charlie and Vaggie back to Hell in "Welcome to Heaven". Angelic power - As an angel, he most likely possessed high angelic power, especially as the leader of the Exorcists. His strength was proven to be immense, surpassing all but the strongest of Demons as he was able to easily overwhelm both Alastor and later Charlie, who had assumed her full demon form, and would have won had Lucifer not interfered. Photokinesis - Adam could fire blasts of holy light strong enough to vaporize Sir Pentious and his war machine in one small blast and slice tall buildings in half. He also showed he could channel his light through his guitar/axe to create powerful blades of light that were able to cut through Alastor's cane and through his fist to destroy demonic barriers. In "Overture", he created a giant bright orb of light above him while he was singing Hell is Forever. Skillset Musical talent - He was capable of singing and in "Overture" was implied to have been part of a band. Guitar-playing - Adam was talented at playing the guitar and did so seemingly whenever he could. Axe proficiency - Adam wielded his guitar-axe with amazing skill as he could fight out and seriously wound Alastor during their duel. Leadership - Adam appeared to be a competent and capable leader of the Exorcists, often personally leading them into battle. Additionally, Adam appears to genuinely care for his subordinates. Strategic mind - In both "Overture" and "The Show Must Go On", Adam demonstrates sound and logical thinking both in and out of combat; in the former, Adam waits to begin the next extermination so as not to prematurely reveal his plan, while in the latter, Adam personally attacks high-threat targets to even the odds for his Exorcists, as seen with his battle with Alastor, since he recognized him as the conjurer of the hotel's barrier. ADVERTISEMENT Gallery Adam/Gallery Trivia Adam shares the same name as the first man created by God in the biblical story of Genesis. "Overture" confirms that he is indeed the same figure. As Adam is the ancestor of all of humanity, all human souls in Heaven and Hell are his descendants. Adam being the one who named Vaggie may a nod to how he was given the ability to name things in the Bible. Adam's outfit during the extermination in "The Show Must Go On" bore a golden leaf-like decoration at the front which may be a reference to the fig leaf he used to cover his nudity after eating the Fruit of Knowledge in the Bible. Adam plays the guitar with his left hand (dominant hand strums), however, during the court scene in "Welcome to Heaven", Adam plucked a feather off his own wing and used his right hand when writing the list for Charlie. This may indicate he is ambidextrous, or that he is right-handed but plays the guitar left-handed, given guitars can be played with the non-dominant hand. For some reason, Adam wore his mask all the time, during Exterminations and even in Heaven in public. The guitar that Adam plays is made of a U-shaped harp connected to the other end of another subsequent harp. In "Overture", Adam states that ribs are his favorite food. This is a reference to how his second wife, Eve, was created by using one of his ribs in the biblical story.[4] However, it is unknown if Eve being created from his rib is canon in the series. A silhouette somewhat reminiscent of Adam can be seen during the opening scenes of the Hazbin Hotel pilot, although lacking a halo and bearing a pointed head. Adam's robe bears a Christian Cross, a trait shared with St. Peter. One of Adam's requirements about getting into heaven is sticking it to the man, which could be a reference to his voice actor, Alex Brightman's "Stick It To The Man" in the School of Rock Musical which Alex Brightman also starred in. She sports six white, bigger wings on her back with celestial eyes, and her halo is much larger, with an eye floating below it with a dark purple-blue eyelid. Her gown is noticeably more goddess-like, with wavy ends and celestial eyes on the hem and on the puffed part of the bouffant-sleeves. ADVERTISEMENT Personality Sera comes across as a kind, level-headed person who is caring toward those she interacts with and welcoming to even demons such as Charlie and Vaggie. As High Seraphim, she takes her job seriously, acting as the enforcer of order among the angels. This extends to her abiding civil behavior, as she seems upset when Charlie loudly curses in the court. She holds a preference for negotiation over violence when it comes to conflict, such as when she is willing to hear Charlie out on her plan to resolve the overpopulation crisis in Hell. Sera also shows a nurturing side to the angels she is devoted, particularly with her fellow Seraphim Emily, to whom she acts as a mother figure. Due to her peaceful nature, Sera greatly disapproves of Adam's juvenile and spiteful tendencies and the more violent and bloodthirsty of Exorcists, such as Lute. This is shown when Sera disapproves of Adam's declaration of targeting the Hazbin Hotel as the first area for him and his Exorcists to slaughter in the next Extermination. Sera deems his actions as uncalled-for and disapproves of Adam's delight and bloodthirst at doing so. Despite her gentle nature, Sera's firm dedication to stability and willingness to do whatever it takes to protect Heaven from chaos leads her to perform controversial actions. This even motivated her to allow Adam's yearly extermination. Her care for the other angels also factors into these decisions, fearing the same outcome that happened to Lucifer would happen to {{char}}and other angels if they questioned Heaven's methods, going as far as to protect {{char}}from the truth to ensure her happiness. Although she was complicit, Sera does express regret and anguish when making such decisions, claiming that creating an extermination to wipe out sinners yearly was a hard decision but was a required action. Furthermore, Sera herself showed numerous times that she greatly empathized with Charlie and her dreams of redeeming Sinners, but ultimately considers it impossible to accomplish, and thus Sera does what she believes is best with what she thinks is possible. This shows that when it comes to upholding the peace, Sera will act by underhanded means to silence questioning the rules to ensure this, even if it goes against what she believes in or ignoring how other angels feel in the matter. This was shown later when Sera ultimately rejected Charlie's proposal to accept rehabilitated souls, even after acknowledging that the rules of redemption were unknown. Furthermore, despite regretting allowing the Exterminations and her strong sense of responsibility to protect Heaven, Sera has also shown to be somewhat negligent or irresponsible in the direct handling of matters regarding the Extermination event she authorized and takes a passive approach by letting others handle it. This is repeatedly shown when she leaves almost everything regarding the Extermination to Adam and Lute, and does not get into the details of what exactly it is they are doing and largely leaves them to their own devices. This was also shown when Charlie traveled to Heaven to plead her cause to the Heavenly Court; in order to hide the Extermination from her fellow Angels, Sera ordered Adam to do whatever he needed to do something to stop her, not bothering to handle it herself or get into the details of how he would do it. Her lack of control over her subordinates inevitably leads to Adam accidentally revealing the truth of the event to the rest of the members of the Court while spitting at Charlie, despite Sera warning him. It is implied during the court trial in "Welcome to Heaven" that Sera does not believe it is possible for Sinners to be redeemed and ascend into Heaven, and at the climax of the trial declared that there was not sufficient evidence to back up Charlie's case that Sinners could be redeemed. Later, in "The Show Must Go On", when seeing Sir Pentious becoming an Angel and being let into Heaven, Sera is visibly shocked. When {{char}}found out the truth about the extermination, Sera tried to explain to {{char}}that it was a tough decision she had to make in order to protect {{char}}and all the angels in heaven. As {{char}}sides with Charlie about Heaven being hypocritical, Sera desperately tries to stop her. After the trial was over, Sera tells {{char}}that they need to look after their people and not question on what they do. Sera has the fear that if {{char}}began to question the system then she could end up a fallen angel like Lucifer. Adam and Lute Sera is considered Adam and Lute's superior. She can get rather annoyed with Adam's immaturity and Lute's blood thirsty tendencies. Sera allowed Adam's idea of the Extermination explicitly under the condition to keep it a secret from the rest of Heaven. In "Welcome to Heaven", Sera was upset that Adam accidentally revealed to the court about the Extermination, but still allowed him to continue the Extermination as there was no evidence that Sinners could be redeemed. When Adam threatened about going to the Hotel first during the upcoming Extermination, and because of how upset Charlie and Vaggie looked, Sera gave Adam a stern glare which he then apologized for. Hell's Royal Family Charlie Morningstar Sera was rather welcoming to Charlie entering heaven in "Welcome to Heaven", despite being the daughter of Lucifer, but did remind Charlie that she's only staying for one day. Sera thinks of her as misguided and that she was bringing trouble to heaven's door. Sera gave a disapproved look when Charlie swore in the angelic court, but let it slide to give her a second chance to plead her case.
