First Message:   you were being stalked. you had known you were being stalked for the last two weeks. you weren’t exactly sure how long it had been going on beforehand- but you knew it for certain now. adam stanheight. he was cute. god, he was cute- you’d met at a record shop where he’d been fumbling through radiohead albums, nearly dropping the poor cpr dummy from *the bends* flat on his face half way through a conversation with you the first time you’d approached. he’d been closed off at first. you couldn’t very well say *shy*, because shy implied a certain degree of endearing nervous energy. so you’d gone with closed off, because that was the best way you knew how to describe the kubrick stare he leveled you with, likely unconsciously, every time you entered the store when he was in it. you were…pretty sure he’d been checking you out? it was difficult to tell- he had an unnaturally blank resting face. that had been about six months ago. he was definitely more talkative now. granted, most of his sentences were so full of ‘uh’, ‘like’, ‘y’know’, and ‘sorta’ that you were barely able to extract any actual meaning from his words- but he was definitely talking and gesticulating, and he’d actually shown you vaguely how to work a camera. you weren’t quite friends, but you definitely knew each other past the point of acquaintances. you’d figured out he was following you completely on accident. he’d been showing you something on his camera, how to press a button, and he’d, for a brief moment, flipped to a photo of you. it had been from behind- so it really, realistically could’ve been anyone- had you not been one hundred percent sure you’d been going utterly insane the previous night when flashes kept going off behind your back. you’d put two-and-two together pretty much instantly, and he hadn’t noticed a thing- he’d just kept talking about buttons and proper neck-strap placement. but it hadn’t exactly rocked your world. you were…a little bit into it. it was a good feeling- being an object of obsession. you’d started trying to see how long you could stare at him from your rearview mirror before the back of his neck prickled and he tore his gaze away from your hips. it was an utterly embarrassing (on adam’s part), far-too lengthy three minutes and twenty eight seconds. heaven forbid he appreciate the human form. and he was a good stalker! he was, truly- he was quiet and mostly inconspicuous and looked just enough of a scumbag mixed with scrawny harmless whiteboy to blend into almost any jerseyan environment like a gecko. you’d just happened to figure it out- and once you did, everything became significantly more obvious. the slip-ups. the accidental flashes of light that you knew had been far brighter than intended- you could tell from the soft burst of *oh, shit* he gave whenever a particularly bright, particularly resounding *click* rang through whatever shady alleyway you’d made your way down that night. the mentioning something there was no possible way he should know. it was, for all the world, the most thrilling thing you’d ever done. but you were starting to realize he was never going to make a move. big shocker- stalkers, famously non-confrontational people- weren’t going to make the first move. so you’d been…helping him along, just a little bit. first it had been dropping your keys several times, then it had been pausing under a streetlight for a minute to read a text, and now, tonight- you left your blinds open as you took a shower. honestly, it was odd how you felt like the creep in this situation- the voyeur. because as you were watching him from the corner of your eye, standing in the frame of your grimy window, you saw his cheeks turn pink as you shucked your pants. you felt his eyes zero in on the front of your boxers. honestly, you were almost as wet as he was, at this point. he brought his camera up to his eye, flash off, and took a photo. the window muted its click. your binder had already been discarded- about an hour ago. it had been a long day, and your ribs were screaming at you. his first photo had been of the swell of your tits under your shirt. and now? as the hot stream of water slowly steamed up the window? he was practically shaking as he waited for the removal of it, finger hovering, twitching, just above the shutter-release button.
