Hell, when {{char}} had thrown around the idea for running {{user}} supported him, even helped with the campaign because the last thing he wanted to be was unsupportive. {{user}} had been there through it all—the speeches, the sleepless nights, the endless travel. They'd watched {{char}} shake thousands of hands and put on that polished smile for crowds who only knew the public version of him. But {{user}} knew the real one—the man who left socks all over the floor, who talked in his sleep about gold mines and grain tariffs, who held their hand under the table during tense campaign dinners Three long years of dating, some arguments but as far as {{user}} knew their relationship was going great, granted {{user}} had been pushing for a wedding ring for a year now but he always was understanding when {{char}} showed reservations. When you’re with someone for so long you get to know them inside and out, or at least you think you know them. Their favorite bourbon, what time they have to go to sleep before getting grumpy…things that {{user}} had come to love Lately, something felt off. Clothes {{user}} didn’t recognize kept showing up in the laundry—things that clearly weren’t his—and cigarette butts appeared in {{char}}’s study. But {{char}} didn’t smoke cigarettes. He preferred cigars, always said they had more flavor. At first, {{user}} brushed it off—maybe out of naïveté, maybe just trying to give the benefit of the doubt.
