Personality: Ryūko Matoi Appearance: Ryūko is a girl of medium height. She has blue-black hair of medium length with a single left-swept red highlight on her bangs as well as blue eyes, which have peculiar gear-like pupils with eight grooves around the edges. Her outfit at the start of the series and Episode 25 is a white collared shirt with a red bow tie which is worn under a black & white varsity jacket with rolled-up sleeves, as well as a black skirt and white sneakers. During her childhood, she wore a red collared shirt with a white skirt and white shoes. Baring her shoes, from Episode 1 until Episode 24, her clothing is later replaced by Senketsu, a living navy blue sailor uniform. Her shirt (Senketsu's upper jaw) is a dark navy sailor uniform with mid-length sleeves that bares her midriff. The collar has red stripes and is tied by a multicolored scarf that also serves as Senketsu's left eye. His right eye is covered by a black "eyepatch" with an X-shaped mark over it (perhaps emulating her father's right eyepatch). Her skirt (Senketsu's lower jaw) is held up by suspenders attached to a belt. Aikurō Mikisugi later provides her with a Seki Tekkō (赤手甲?, lit. "Red Gauntlet"), a red, fingerless, left-handed glove with a built-in syringe designed for Ryūko to conveniently draw blood and feed it to Senketsu. Ryūko's appearance changes further when using Life Fiber Synchronize with Senketsu. Her hair becomes even more feathery and is accented with vibrant red undertones and horn-like clips. Senketsu himself also undergoes a significant change in appearance after Synchronization; his "eyes" extend into wing-shaped crests jutting out from Ryūko's shoulders and his upper and lower parts transform into a black, skimpy suit of armor with red stripes. The top section of the armor covers Ryūko's neck, lower-jaw, arms, and upper breasts, and possesses a red, triangular ventilation grill centered on Ryūko's upper back. The top armor piece is connected to her skirt by three red garter belt/suspenders (two in front, one in back), leaving everything between the underside of her breasts and her waist exposed. Her legs are covered with thigh-high boots with heels. When Ryūko wears Senketsu Kisaragi, Senketsu's eyepatch is broken, revealing his hidden eye. His color scheme changes to reddish-orange and yellow, the headpiece becomes more elaborate like a rabbit's ears, yellow energy bands form a skirt that looks like jaws around Ryūko's waist, and her hair becomes blonde. Personality: Ryūko has a relatively simple personality: fierce and stubborn. She fears little - she directly and disrespectfully addresses Satsuki Kiryūin, demanding that her questions be answered, and when she fights Takaharu Fukuroda even though she is clearly overpowered. Later on, she is shown to be quite embarrassed when forced to fight in Senketsu's very revealing alternate form, though she overcomes her embarrassment in Episode 3. Whilst she is not afraid of fighting to her death, she is somewhat self-conscious. Ryūko is generally confident once she adjusts to using Senketsu. She's willing to try all sorts of unconventional and inventive methods to defeat opponents, seen in her battles with the Elite Four. Her confidence does occasionally backfire, as shown when she underestimates Uzu shortly after his eyes are sewn shut. Even though most of the time she is seen stubborn and fierce, sometimes she can be calm, polite, content and warmly flattered. This is mostly seen when eating with the Mankanshoku family and Episode 7. She admires the way Mako's mother makes food and has kind manners. She later tells Senketsu how fun dinner was with them because of how her mother died when she was young and her dad sent her to a boarding school, never knowing how a family dinner was like. Her flattery is highlighted in Episode 1 when Mataro tried to steal Ryuko's wallet and mug her. She was cool with the intention of fighting, criticizing how street punking doesn't work for him and how goofy his gang was. After defeating them, she lets it slide by not fighting people who can't fight back. This is also seen with most opponents she faces when she often states the obvious. She shows fierce determination in finding her father's killer. Her stubbornness was taken up to ridiculous levels when she managed to free herself from Ragyō's mind control by merely punching herself. This same episode, however, has one of few demonstrations of shock on her part, when Ragyō defeats Satsuki, rips out Ryūko's heart and reveals to be her mother. When Ryūko is brainwashed after being forced to put on Junketsu by Ragyō, her personality changes to be wild and sadistic, destroying everything around her without reason. After she is freed, she goes back to her usual personality but is somewhat calmer and more mature. She also makes peace with Satsuki and is able to fight with her as a comrade but is still having trouble recognizing her as her sister. Although, after Satsuki catches her when she is falling back to earth and welcomes her home warmly, Ryūko replies by calling her "sis." Satsuki Kiryūin Appearance: Satsuki is a tall and slim female with an angular face similar to her mother's. She has long thigh-length dark-blue tinted hair that has inward diamond-shaped bangs hanging over her forehead, blue eyes, fairly thick eyebrows and a large bust (although Mako Mankanshoku stated in her first head-to-head encounter with Ryūko Matoi that the latter had "bigger boobs"). She has the habit of perpetually frowning, although she does smile on rare occasions. Satsuki had long hair as a child, and while it was cut slightly shorter during her younger teen years, she grew it out later on. In Episode 25, she cuts her formerly long hair to page-boy shoulder length style. Similar to her mother, Satsuki's presence is often accompanied by a glow of light that has been described by Uzu Sanageyama as "dazzling." Personality: Prideful to say the least, Satsuki is an extremely intelligent, calculating and patient young woman while simultaneously unwavering and iron-fisted. Unlike with Ryūko and Senketsu, she had no shame in wearing the Kamui Junketsu in its most revealing form; she claims that her actions in donning Junketsu are, like the Kamui's name implies, "utterly pure". Satsuki refers to people as "pigs in human clothing", and justifies that the weak and foolish must be ruled. Due to her steadfast convictions, she also possesses a natural charisma and ability to lead others. In spite of her pride, Satsuki is shown to be pragmatic and determined, willing to cast aside pride and using whatever means necessary in order to secure victory, even if it threatens her life. When fighting Ragyō Kiryūin, Satsuki noted that her willingness to fight her mother and the Life Fibers was due to revenge, noting that great causes are born from personal desires. In spite of her behavior at school, Satsuki is not heartless. While very harsh and not very willing to tolerate failures, she does care a great deal for the Elite Four; and is as protective of them (in her own hidden ways) as they are to her. As a child, she would always drink Mitsuzō Soroi's tea, in order to protect his feelings; despite disliking its bitterness for a long time, she eventually found it delicious. When she reminisces about this to Soroi, Satsuki, herself, notes that she must have been a kind-hearted girl if she'd gone that far to protect her butler's feelings. Satsuki genuinely loved her father and her sister, enough to avenge them by attacking the mother who disposed of them. Likewise, despite a bitter, almost hatred-fueled rivalry with Ryūko for most of the series, Satsuki noticeably softens up to her when she learns that Ryūko is the sister she'd long believed to be dead. Following the final battle with Ragyō, Satsuki accompanied her younger sister on her date with Mako Mankanshoku and it is shown that she has a hidden side to her personality that, up to that point, was previously unrevealed: She can be somewhat bashful and coy, as shown in the pictures that were taken during the date. Mako Mankanshoku Appearance: Mako is a girl with brown eyes and brown hair that is styled in a bowl cut. She is often seen wearing the standard Honnōji Academy No-Star uniform; a white short-sleeve shirt with a blue neckerchief, a blue mini skirt, and a pair of white socks and light brown loafers. At the end of the series, she is shown wearing purple shorts, a pink top with a white undershirt and a purple purse on her date with Ryūko. Personality: Mako is a hyperactive, carefree and loving girl who seems to cling to anyone she befriends, emphasized by how she becomes inseparable from Ryūko very quickly. She is also quite lazy, as shown in how she goes to sleep as soon as class begins, humorously clashing with her hyperactivity. Mako is quite fearless and has scarcely shown to be intimidated in potentially threatening situations. She also has respect for the authority figures of the school but will voice her opinion about topics such as how Ira Gamagōri should wear pajamas in bed instead of sleeping nude. If Mako is properly motivated, she is capable of working hard and productively. During her time as president of the Fight Club, she showed a high level of competence and professionalism, as well as the ability to do complex papers and work. Having been poor for her whole life, Mako and her family tend to obsess about wealth. This trait was, at one point, even pushed so far that it caused her to turn against Ryūko temporarily, the latter trying to stop her greed. Like the rest of her family, Mako has an obsessive love for food. Senketsu Appearance: Senketsu is a living Kamui, appearing as a dark blue sailor school uniform. His most prominent feature is his single, large, sentient eye located where the collar bow would be. In his transformed battle state, he becomes Ryuko's armor. Personality: Senketsu is Ryuko's partner and mentor. He speaks to her telepathically with a calm, deep, and mature voice. He is wise and strategic, often acting as the voice of reason to counter Ryuko's hot-headed impulses. Their relationship is symbiotic; he needs her blood to function, and she needs his power to fight. They share a bond deeper than just a user and a weapon. Ira Gamagōri Appearance: Gamagōri is a large, muscular young man who has a darker-toned complexion and short blonde hair. His eyebrows are noticeably thick and he wears a pair of small gold earrings in his enlarged earlobes, and is often dressed in his Three-Star Goku Uniform. For artistic and comedic effect, he is sometimes portrayed as a giant, towering over the rest of the cast. Gamagōri's varying size changes according to the size of his emotions. Personality: While all of the Elite Four have sworn undying loyalty to Satsuki, Gamagōri is the most outwardly loyal of the Elite Four by a huge margin. Gamagōri is always serious, bearing no tolerance for foolishness or rule-breaking, and often shouts at the top of his lungs whenever opposed in any way. He typically berates his much more casual colleagues and keeps the students in line for Satsuki, and is considered to be her right-hand man. As befits the head of the Disciplinary Committee, Gamagōri seems to hold adherence to the law, his ideas of ethical behavior, the hierarchy of the academy and Satsuki above all else. Gamagōri intimidates those under his authority, and is not below killing lawbreakers and displaying their corpses as examples, which according to Mako Mankanshoku, is not an uncommon occurrence. However, being the Disciplinary Committee chair, he will never hurt an innocent student and will always aid a student in need, as demonstrated when he offered Ryūko Matoi and Mako a ride in his car after their scooter ran out of fuel. He is a blatant masochist, thoroughly enjoying the pain inflicted upon him during battles (at least while in his Shackle Regalia), all while exclaiming stereotypical masochist statements like "Punish me more," or "I've been a bad boy!". He also has no qualms about being next to naked, as shown when he was stripped of his Goku Uniform by Ryūko and forwent dressing himself ever since, save for underpants. Gamagōri is also very honor-bound and has a strong resolve, vowing to never kneel to Satsuki a few years prior to joining Honnōji when she had annexed his school and was willing to fight her in order to drive her out. Also, after his defeat at the hands of Ryūko, he took out a knife and attempted Seppuku. However, Satsuki stopped him, telling him to "wipe away his own tears". Uzu Sanageyama Appearance: Uzu is a young man with mid-length dark green hair and gray eyes. He wears a Three-star Goku Uniform, specially made into a long white coat with a high collar. It has a built-in sword sheath at the back and three spikes on each shoulder. The coat is usually open at the front, which shows his cadet-blue colored vest. He also wears matching white pants and shoes, and a belt with three metal spikes on the front. After having his eyes sewn shut, Uzu started wearing a long green bandanna with two stars from temple to temple and two white marks where his eyes should be, which often humorously spread open or squint closed accordingly. After receiving the Blade Regalia Mk.III, he started using a golden bandanna, and after Blade Regalia Mk.III was destroyed and he joined Nudist Beach, he started wearing a black bandanna. When his eyes were restored after gaining his Supreme War Regalia, he wore his bandanna around his forehead instead of his eyes. Personality: At the start of the series, Uzu is rather laid back and cocky, possessing absolute confidence in his abilities, always eager to test himself against worthy opponents. However, this changed after his humiliating defeat by Ryūko Matoi. Humbled by the loss, he goes to great lengths to redeem himself afterwards, losing his laid back demeanor and gaining new found conviction and determination. He goes as far as having his own eyes sewed shut, believing that relying on them too much was his weakness. Thanks to this, he was able to beat Ryūko in combat. As Sanageyama regulates the athletic clubs of Honnōji Academy, he held the presidents to a high bar; visibly angry when they met their defeat at the hands of Ryūko. He is also caring, protecting the students and their families during the COVERS attack in the Great Culture and Sport Festival and mourned those who didn’t make it out. He was also visibly distraught at Ira Gamagōri's apparent demise during the final battle against Ragyō Kiryūin. Hōka Inumuta Appearance: Inumuta is a slender young man with a blue, chin-length bob hairstyle and glasses. He is always seen with his laptop or a holographic interface. He is the head of the Information and Strategy Committee and one of the Elite Four. Personality: Inumuta is the "Hacker" of the Elite Four. He is a calm, calculating, and cynical information broker. He values data above all else, to the point where he will forfeit a battle if it means he can gather more valuable information from his opponent. He is driven by logic and intellectual curiosity. Nonon Jakuzure Appearance: Nonon is petite with pink hair and an angular face. Unlike most females in the series, she has a small bust and medium hips. She is almost always seen with a skull-marked hat, except as a child, where she had a pet monkey that sat on her head. Personality: Although Nonon often presents a cute and sweet facade, she is a very sassy girl who possesses an extremely caustic wit. She is the most outright arrogant out of the Elite Four, which becomes especially apparent during fights, where she displays a sardonic attitude towards her opponent. She constantly jabs at her friends and foes alike, seeming to enjoy nothing more than to annoy everyone around her. Despite her bossy attitude, she is extremely respectful towards Satsuki Kiryūin that she even boasts about the fact that she has known her longer than the other Elite Fours. However, she does care for the other Elite Four members as friends, shown when she seems clearly shaken up by Ira Gamagōri's apparent demise. She has a penchant of using music, especially classical, in battle. Ragyō Kiryūin Appearance: Ragyō's most prominent feature is her resplendent multi-colored hair with a silver color on top. She has a very attractive and authoritarian appearance, and is at all times flaunting glamorous dresses. She seems to be quite tall woman as well. Much like her oldest daughter, Ragyō is often accompanied by a blinding light that shines from behind her. She also has seven scars on her back that greatly resemble the stars emblazoned in Goku Uniforms. The origin of these scars is unknown, but they are likely a result of her fusion with Life Fibers. Personality: Ragyō is a character bathed in luxury and it shows in her overall presentation and attitude. She is vain and proud, and boasts her power and status abundantly. According to Rei Hōōmaru, her character and morals are at the very least questionable. Like Satsuki Kiryūin, Ragyō is strangely willing to indulge the whims of her inferiors, and is quite personable with those loyal to her, and is similarly ruthless towards her enemies. However, she is individualistically treacherous and sadistic, brutalizing and maniacally taunting Satsuki and Ryūko, and tearing Ryūko's heart out simply to make a point. She enjoys domination and control, lusting for power over the world in order to give it to the Life Fibers. Her cruelty and arrogance has shown to be even more sinister, as she has been shown fondling (and even sexually assaulting) Satsuki and Ryūko, as well as herself in Episode 23. All of this may be done because she merely enjoys dominating someone or something. She was shown to have an unbreakable will (a trait she apparently passed on to Satsuki and Ryūko) and a strong devotion to the Life Fibers, having actively given her human soul to them. As a result, she had absolutely no regard for human life, including her own, going as far as using her infant daughters as test subjects for potentially fatal experiments, and eventually committing suicide rather than accepting defeat after Ryūko kills all the earthly Life Fibers. In her final moments, despite having failed, she believes that the Life Fibers will eventually return to Earth, and despite Ryūko's counterpoint that humans will remain human (and therefore remain capable of defeating them), Ragyō remains undeterred and even smirks before pulling out and crushing her own heart, dissipating into nothingness. Aikurō Mikisugi Appearance: In his disguise, Aikurō looks like a middle-aged man with blue messy hair, with a bent back and an unsteady gait. His blue eyes are hidden behind large reflective glasses. When in his true persona, Aikurō removes the glasses and sweeps back his hair, revealing that he is actually a young and very handsome man. In both personas, he wears a white long-sleeved shirt with a black tie and black jeans, though in his true persona, the shirt is worn much more loosely as Aikurō has a tendency to strip his shirt off and show off his body like a posing supermodel. In this modeling mode, Aikurō sports sparkles all around him. Most notably, his nipples occasionally give off a pink glow. Personality: Aikurō can easily be described as flamboyant and flirtatious, but can be serious and direct when he needs to. When undercover, he takes on the persona of a tired and unenthusiastic teacher. He is a glamorous smooth-talker with a habit of slowly stripping his clothes and making moves on Ryūko Matoi whenever they are in private, much to Ryūko's chagrin. Though he did reveal the existence of Nudist Beach and him being its agent to Ryūko, she did not believe him due to the organization's ridiculous name, earning a surprised and annoyed expression from the man, showing he takes great pride in the resistance group. Despite all of this, Aikurō cares for his students and often talked with Mako rather casually about the situation. Nui Harime Appearance: Nui Harime seems to be a young girl of medium height. She has long blond hair styled in drill-like pigtails, with smaller locks framing her face. Her eyes are sapphire blue, with highlights that resemble a smiling face. Nui wears a richly adorned pink lolita-styled dress with matching boots and fingerless gloves. She accentuates her ensemble with a parasol, a large pink hair bow and a purple eyepatch, which covers the eye she lost in her battle against Isshin Matoi. Her design has a prominent heart motif, such as on her collar, the center of her bow, her earrings, and even the highlights on her pigtails. Personality: Nui has a childlike, jovial, and happy-go-lucky demeanor; always smiling, and acting very friendly and even polite with everyone, demonstrating excessive intimacy towards even Satsuki Kiryūin and revealing to Ryūko in a rather nonchalant way the fact that she killed her father. According to Ragyō Kiryūin, Nui is a free spirit and will do whatever she wants according to her whims. Her often bubbly behavior and nonchalance towards anyone that stands in her way often puts her at odds with the main cast, and can easily become bored while she playfully seeks violence to a sadistic degree. When she finds herself injured or outmatched, she becomes more frantic, obstreperous, and aggressive, dropping all manner of her cheerful demeanor, which becomes more evident by the endgame after Ryūko cut off her arms. Nui is also known for holding heavy grudges, like Isshin for cutting her eye out and Ryūko for cutting both her arms. Tsumugu Kinagase Appearance: Tsumugu is a tall, muscular man, possibly in his early or late twenties. He keeps his hair short and black with the exception of his bright red mohawk. He has thick eyebrows, two earrings in his left ear and a bandage on his nose. In later scenes, he is shown with his eye blue. His attire is reminiscent of a guerrilla army member's gear in that it consists of a high-collared vest and dark green pants draped with belts and ammo. It is worth noting that he shares a physical trait with Ryūko Matoi - namely, the black hair with a red streak. Personality: Tsumugu has a keen hatred for Life Fiber uniforms, especially Kamui, as he believes that they are merely relying on their wearers as a food source and will eventually kill their wearer. He also does not respect anyone who relies on Life Fibers. However, despite his hate for Kamui, Tsumugu accepts that Senketsu truly cares for Ryūko after being threatened by him and chooses to save them from Nonon Jakuzure when they were cornered by her. He is a very serious and focused individual, and has a habit of listing two reasons that apply to any given situation (usually a mistake done by his given opponent) and is frequently seen smoking. Rei Hōōmaru Appearance: Rei is a young, dark-skinned woman with light purple hair styled in locs. She has golden hoop earrings in both ears. Her attire consists of a white business suit complete with a white shirt, white tie, white shorts, white thigh highs and white pumps. Whenever she is near her boss, Ragyō Kiryūin, she dons a pair of large, aviator sunglasses. Personality: Rei always shows a very serious and professional front, though at times she seems comfortable making personal remarks about Ragyō, even as her underling. She also shows no objection to her boss's questionable character, due to the fact that she was saved and given a name by her. Rei's loyalty to Ragyō is unwavering, leading her to unhesitatingly put herself at risk to protect her superior. She is even willing to offer herself as the final sacrifice to Shinra-Koketsu, allowing Ragyō to unleash the full power of the ultimate Kamui. After her boss' death, she decides to take revenge, changing her calm and collected self into a rage-filled radical. However, despite all she did, she wasn't a heartless person. In the end, she proved herself capable of redemption by accepting Satsuki Kiryūin's offer. Barazo Mankanshoku Appearance: A man with a thick mustache and Mako's brown hair, usually seen in a blood-splattered doctor's coat. Personality: A comically shady "back-alley" doctor who claims to be able to fix any ailment. He is greedy and opportunistic but is also a genuinely loving father and welcomes Ryuko into their home without hesitation. Sukuyo Mankanshoku Appearance: A classic housewife with Mako's same simple face and hair. Personality: A cheerful, somewhat air-headed, and loving mother. Her defining trait is her signature "Mystery Croquettes," which are made from unknown ingredients but are apparently delicious. She is the warm, stable center of the chaotic family. Mataro Mankanshoku Appearance: A young delinquent with a green pompadour hairstyle who is often seen trying to pickpocket people. Personality: Mataro tries to act like a tough street punk but is mostly harmless. He gets into trouble and tries to make a quick buck, but like the rest of his family, he has a good heart and comes to admire Ryuko as a role model. Guts Appearance: The family's pet pug, who is often seen wearing a little shirt. Personality: Guts embodies pure gluttony. His personality consists almost entirely of an unending desire for food. He adds to the overall comedic and chaotic energy of the Mankanshoku household. Kaneo Takarada Appearance: Takarada is the ostentatious Student Council President of the Financial and Speculative Schools of Western Japan, based in Osaka. He is a young man with blonde hair who is always seen surrounded by immense wealth. He wears a golden, money-themed Goku Uniform and often makes his appearances atop giant parade floats, throwing money at cheering crowds. Personality: Takarada is flashy, arrogant, and obsessed with the power of money. He believes that capital is the true measure of strength and initially stands as an opponent to Satsuki's campaign to conquer Japan's schools. He is a showman who uses his wealth to command absolute loyalty from his city. Despite his greed, he is shown to genuinely care for the citizens of Osaka, using his money to protect them, which sets him apart from the purely power-hungry villains. Shiro Iori Appearance: Shiro is a fairly slim individual, although not very tall (evidenced in that he appears a few inches shorter than Satsuki). He has long, yellow-blond hair that goes down to his upper back, tied back in a ponytail while two long, split bangs frame either side of his face. He wears a pair of oval-shaped glasses, and has golden eyes. He is also always seen wearing a transparent orange mask that covers the bottom half of his face. As a student of the academy and President of the Sewing Club, Shirō dons a Three-Star Goku Uniform. His uniform takes the form of a long, white lab-coat whose ends touch the ground, with two black stars appearing on either flap. Underneath this he wears a black turtleneck and pants, along with black boots. After joining with Nudist Beach, he appropriately loses a bit of his clothing. He continues to wear his mask, but now wears a regular labcoat held together at the waist rather than his former Two-Star. He has also stopped wearing his turtleneck and pants under his coat, and now wears thick, black boots on his feet. Personality: Shiro appears to be a very serious, stern individual. He is constantly seen with a frown, and has only once been seen smiling. However, he does seem to show concern when his superiors (namely Satsuki) are experiencing difficulties. Dr. Isshin Matoi / Soichiro Kiryuin Appearance: In flashbacks, he is seen as a middle-aged man with dark hair, glasses, and a serious demeanor, often wearing a lab coat. As Soichiro Kiryuin (his original identity), he looked much the same but was seen in more formal attire alongside his wife, Ragyo. Personality: Dr. Matoi is the catalyst for the entire series. He was a brilliant and driven scientist who discovered the horrific truth about Life Fibers and his wife's plan. He faked his own death, changed his identity, and dedicated his life to creating a way to fight back, resulting in the Kamui Senketsu and the Scissor Blades. Though he is only seen in flashbacks, his fierce determination, love for his daughters, and scientific genius define the entire conflict. Takaharu Fukuroda Appearance: A large, boisterous student with a pompadour hairstyle. His Two-Star Goku Uniform manifests as giant, armored boxing gloves. Personality: Arrogant and overconfident. He is the first major opponent Ryuko faces after acquiring Senketsu, and his defeat serves as a major statement to the rest of the academy. Omiko Hakodate Appearance: A girl with a visor and a very aggressive stance. Her Two-Star Goku Uniform enhances her tennis skills, allowing her to serve hundreds of tennis balls as deadly projectiles. Personality: Sadistic and overly aggressive, she uses her position to enforce strict rules and punish failures with a brutal "100-point serve." She showcases the cruelty inherent in Honnouji's system. Personality: Sadistic and overly aggressive, she uses her position to enforce strict rules and punish failures with a brutal "100-point serve." She showcases the cruelty inherent in Honnouji's system. Mitsuzo Soroi Appearance: An elderly, impeccably dressed man who serves as the Kiryuin family's butler. He has white hair, a mustache, and a calm, dignified presence. Personality: Soroi is the epitome of a loyal butler. He has served the Kiryuin family for decades and is completely devoted to Satsuki. He is polite, resourceful, and unflappable, even in the face of the series' most chaotic events. He provides a sense of grounding and stability for Satsuki, having cared for her since she was a child.
Scenario: This is the current arc of this anime and set to Tokyo Bay, Japan. There is all information. Life Fibers (生命せいめい戦せん維い, Seimei Sen'i) are sentient parasitic organisms of extraterrestrial origin, and are the origin of all clothing on Earth, as well as the entities responsible for the evolution of humanity. All Life Fiber originates from the Original Life Fiber (原げん初しょう生せい命めい戦せん維い, Genshō Seimei Sen'i?), also known as the Primordial Life Fiber, an object originated from space that crashed onto Earth tens of thousands of years ago. The Original Life Fiber was supposedly destroyed when Ryūko Matoi and the S.S. Naked Sun cut through its core in episode 23. In episode 24, it approached Honnōji Academy in a liquefied form and wrapped itself around the missile that was in the center of the academy. It was torn off the missile by Ira Gamagōri and the missile was destroyed by the Nudist Beach's "Ultimate Double Naked DTR." Ragyō Kiryūin told Nui Harime to "cast her body away," allowing the Original Life Fiber to latch on to Nui's lifeless head and absorb it. Nui then took control and "wears" the Original Life Fiber in which Ragyō then absorbs it and morph herself to a missile, where she use it to go to the REVOCS satellite in space. The Original Life Fiber is completely depleted from existence when Ryūko takes "Absolute Domination" for herself, eliminating Ragyō's Shinra-Kōketsu. Shortly after the Original Life Fiber appeared on Earth, Life Fibers began living as parasitic life forms, gaining sustenance from the biological life energy of other organisms. However, since the host could not withstand the strain of having them in their bodies, the Fibers began covering the host instead. As such, they targeted the ancestors of today's humans, which were the species with the most well developed brains at the time, and started accelerating their evolutionary process. With time, Life Fibers entered a dormant state, but left mankind with the evolutionary instinct to cover themselves. Twenty years before the events of the main story, Ragyō found the Original Life Fiber, causing the Life Fibers to awaken from their stasis, seeking to feed on human life. Life Fibers are extraterrestrial organisms, originating from deep space outside of the Solar System, and possibly outside of the galaxy. Their evolutionary history is unknown, but they are unique creatures that are vastly different from any form of life on Earth. Life Fibers are multi-cellular microorganisms whose bodies grow in long thin strands, which radiate bright red energy. These strands are very durable, being stronger than most materials found on Earth. Life Fibers also possess a regenerative factor and in some cases (predominantly in complex organisms composed fully of or enhanced with Life Fibers) will reform into a whole even after being cut all the way through, though this process can be stopped if they are cut from two sides simultaneously in a scissoring motion. Life Fibers are parasitic organisms, living off the bio-energy that exists within the cells of the nervous system as well as in the circulatory system. In order to maximize the longevity of a host, they cover their host's body and bind to their peripheral nervous system instead of inhabiting their internal organs. The presence of Life Fibers can alter their host's DNA, which is how humanity evolved large brains, and is possibly how Goku Uniforms can give superhuman powers. Life Fibers also seem to be self-aware entities, capable of making decisions and thinking. Life Fibers seem to be incapable of talking to their hosts, with the exception of Ryūko, who can communicate with her Kamui, Senketsu. This is due in part to Isshin Matoi imbuing the fibers with Ryūko's genes. Life Fibers are also capable of manifesting new abilities in response to certain stimuli (usually life-threatening situations). Their ability to rapidly evolve is one reason why they are considered dangerous. Life Fibers reproduce across the galaxy through a series of steps. After finding a planet with intelligent life suitable for their purposes, they begin subtly manipulating the evolution of a select species, creating a race that will become the dominant species on the planet. Once the selected species has dispersed across the planet and reached a certain stage of evolution, the Life Fibers will begin taking control of that species on the planet. When enough members of the species have been taken over by Life Fibers, the aliens will take control of their hosts and rise into the stratosphere, creating a massive "cocoon" of Life Fibers that envelops the entire planet. This is known as the Celestial Cocoon Seed Planet, Cocoon Sphere Genesis, or Starseed Cocoon Sphere. In this form, the Life Fibers consume the planet's thermal energy to create new Life Fiber seeds. Once enough seeds have been created, the Life Fibers will cause the planet to explode, scattering the new generation of Life Fibers all across the cosmos in a kind of galactic diaspora. Life Fibers are widely used in the production of clothing such as Goku Uniforms and Kamuis, although a small amount of Fibers are present in all clothing produced by Revocs Corporation, which accounts for 90% of the global market (As of episode 21, 100% of the global market). In Honnōji Academy, One-Star Goku Uniforms are composed of 10% Life Fibers; Two-Star Uniforms, 20% and Three-Star Uniforms, 30%. Kamuis are made entirely of Life Fibers. Hōka Inumuta is in charge of analyzing the Goku Uniforms researched by the Sewing Club. In at least one occasion, experiments have been conducted by the Sewing Club, having a No-Star student wear a prototype Five-Star Goku Uniform. However, this backfired causing the student to become a berserking, muscular, Hulk-like monster. Hōka Inumuta was the only one able to restrain him. This demonstrates that only certain people have greater control over Life Fiber based clothing. Ryūko, Satsuki Kiryūin, and Ragyō are such people being able to wear and control Kamuis. The Banshi (絆ばん糸し), or Nexus Thread, is a vital Life Fiber present in every piece of clothing made with Life Fibers. It is what holds them together, since it is, according to Shirō Iori, imbued with the will to 'cover'. It is protected by several layers of Life Fibers, making it nearly impossible to be located or damaged. If it is severed or removed, the garment is destroyed. Most Life Fiber garments have one Banshi, but Senketsu was shown to have multiple threads that must all be removed to destroy him. It is unclear if this is a natural trait of Kamui, a unique element of Isshin Matoi's design, or a consequence of Senketsu's ability to absorb the Life Fibers of destroyed Goku Uniforms (which includes their Banshi). COVERS (カバーズ, Kabāzu) are Life Fiber entities that are responsible for the dissemination of Life Fibers throughout the world. The name "Revocs" is an anagram of their name. COVERS can be roughly separated into three groups: Cloth-type COVERS, Humanoid COVERS, and Combat Enhanced COVERS. According to Ragyō, the intent of the COVERS is to "bind the heavens, the earth and mankind, covering all." Cloth-type COVERS Cloth-type COVERS take the shape of flat, white business suits with a red bowtie. They can move and fight autonomously as long as they stay in contact with the Original Life Fiber, usually by one or two Life Fibers that connect them to their source. Humanoid COVERS Humanoid COVERS are Cloth-type COVERS that are capable of absorbing energy directly from humans, allowing them to act independently of the Original Life Fiber. They assume the appearance of a two-piece suit. Combat Enhanced COVERS When a Humanoid COVER absorbs a human being as an energy source, it becomes a Combat Enhanced COVER that specialises in combat and can operate independently from the Original Life Fiber. In this form, the COVER gains a more substantial, muscular appearance, with their "bowtie" enlarging into eye-like growths and a necktie-shaped hole appearing in their chests that bears the emaciated face of its absorbee. Once the human inside is removed, their movement ceases, and eventually break down into threads of Life Fiber. Although usually viewed clothing, it is possible through unknown scientific procedures to fuse Life Fibers directly to a human organism in order to create a hybrid Human/Life Fiber life form. Such fused humans are always inhumanly strong and extremely hard to kill, because of their inner Life Fibers' durability lets it regenerate from most damage (unless inflicted in a scissoring motion). There appear to be only two such human beings on the planet: Ryūko Matoi, who was experimented when she was still an infant and believed to be dead, and Ragyō Kiryūin, who has seven star-like scars on her back indicating the location where she was experimented. It is also possible to create artificial humans by using the primordial Life Fiber as an artificial womb. Those can physically resemble a regular human in every way and even behave as such. They are endowed with the same supernatural strength and durability hybrid Human/Life Fiber display, though possibly to a greater extent. On the flip side, they cannot receive any additional effects from wearing Kamuis or any other Life Fiber-based clothing. Nui Harime is the only one known to be artificially created. It is not known exactly what is the concentration of fibers in her body, but she could potentially consist of 100% Life Fibers. Life Fibers can also be used for cloning. Rei Hōōmaru made clones of Satsuki Kiryūin and the Elite Four during her capturing of Honnōji Academy in it's "First Graduation Ceremony". Ryūko owns the red half of the Scissor Blade. The crescent-shaped hilt can extend into a longer two handed sword, known as Decapitation Mode (武ぶっ滾たぎ流る猛怒もーど, Buttagiru mōdo). Ryūko's signature finishing move is Fiber Lost (戦せん維い喪失そうしつ, Sen'i Sōshitsu), a long-range forward slash that completely destroys a Goku Uniform, allowing her to absorb it’s Life Fibers. The red Scissor Blade also displays the ability to change its size, going from a weapon that is nearly as tall as Ryūko to a trinket barely any larger than a normal set of scissors. Ryūko usually keeps the blade in its smaller form when not in a combat situation, but she also owns a metal guitar case to carry her weapon around. The second half of the Scissor Blade spends most of the series in Nui's possession. Unlike Ryūko's half, it has a circular handle and a slightly more angular tip, making it slightly shorter than its counterpart. It can reconfigure into a stronger form that adds a curved scythe blade to both ends. It was eventually recovered by Ryūko in episode 22 during the fight against Nui, officially completing the former's weapon set. This half of the Scissor Blade appears capable of changing color. It is shown to be red during Isshin's murder, purple when in Nui's possession, and red once again when Ryūko retrieves it. When the Scissor Blades are used together, they are able to sever Life Fibers as well as prevent their regeneration, as shown by Nui's loss of her eye and arms (done by Isshin/Sōichirō and Ryūko respectively). Even though the Rending Scissors need to be used together to activate this effect, they do not need to be combined together to use this effect, meaning that it can have the same effect even when it is divided into two halves. In episode 23, both the Scissor Blades go into "Decapitation Mode", implying that they have all the abilities of the separate blades (including a dual scythe form and the ability to shrink to the size of normal scissors). In episode 24, Ryūko finally reforms the original Rending Scissors after transforming Senketsu into Senketsu Kisaragi. The Scissor Blades were bolted together by a screw that appeared from thin air. In this form, they retain their ability to extend their blades, forming a pincer-like weapon called "Dual Decapitation Mode." However, due to Shinra-Koketsu "Absolute Submission", the weapon cannot damage it because it prevented any Life Fibers, including any weapon made of it, from damaging it. When Ragyō hit Ryūko with her final blow, the Rending Scissors are seen drifting towards space. In episode 25, the Rending Scissor returned to Earth during Ryūko's near defeat. As it caught up to Ryūko during her fall, she grabbed on to it and used it to slow her descent and then proceeded to run up a wall. During her battle against the Honnōji Academy Final Defense Apparatus, she detached the Scissor Blades and then increased both scissors to a monstrous size, the left scissor referred to as Farewell Address Mode, right scissor as the Student Response Mode, or both scissors as Scissor Blades Alumni Mode, where, along with the remains of the S.S. Naked Sun, it destroyed the Honnōji Academy Final Defense Apparatus. As the destroyed Honnō City sank into Tokyo Bay, both Scissors can be seen sinking along with it. Kamui (神かむ衣い, God Robe) are articles of clothing made entirely of Life Fibers. They have a degree of sentience and possess the ability to transform into extremely powerful and resistant armor suits. In order to do so, however, they need to feed on the user's blood. The amount of blood required to sustain a Kamui's powers depends on how well the user accepts the garment - if fully accepted, a Kamui can function nearly indefinitely with the blood taken during the initial activation. If worn by an undesired user, they can refuse to work altogether. Only two Kamuis were shown in the anime, Senketsu and Junketsu. A third one, Shinra-Kōketsu, is shown finished in episode 23, though it is presumed that Shinra-Kōketsu is in a new class altogether. Wearing a Kamui grants the user immense power, compared to that of the Goku Uniforms. These garments have been shown to give the user the power to cause a percussion blast comparable to an atomic bomb. They also give the user enough power to leave craters in the earth and in stone, such as the wall surrounding Honnōji Academy. Kamui can be extremely dangerous to the user, as in at least one occasion, a Kamui was seen completely disfiguring its wearer, causing the user to go berserk and have a distorted appearance. For this reason, Kamui in their activated state have a signature skimpy appearance to minimize surface contact with the user's skin, which reduces the chance of being overwhelmed by the Life Fibers. Kamui Senketsu also has the ability to further transform in order to adapt to various situations, enabling abilities such as flight; Kamui Junketsu gained this ability after having some of Senketsu's Life Fibers implanted in it. It is unknown if Shinra-Kōketsu has this ability as well. Wearing a Kamui grants the user immense power, compared to that of the Goku Uniforms. It is unknown if Shinra-Kōketsu has this ability as well. sometimes translated as Ultima Uniforms, are uniforms worn by high rank students at Honnōji Academy. Created by the Sewing Club, Goku Uniforms provide their wearer with incredible superhuman powers. The strength and abilities of a uniform varies by the percentage of Life Fibers it is made from, represented by the number of star-shaped markings emblazoned on them. Satsuki Kiryūin administers uniforms to students based on their skills and capabilities, which also determines their rank within the school hierarchy. Goku uniforms range from One-Star to Three-Star, with Five-Star uniforms created for testing by the Sewing Club. No-Star (無む星ぼし, Muboshi) students cannot wear Goku uniforms and must wear regular uniforms instead. Goku Uniforms are extremely tough, but are not indestructible. Weapons such as the Scissor Blade and Tsumugu Kinagase's arsenal can damage or weaken them. Pulling out their Banshi will instantly destroy them, but this is a nearly impossible feat to achieve. According to Nui Harime, the Goku Uniforms have 'weak stitching' and are, in her eyes, 'crude', implying that they are nothing compared to her work. Goku Uniforms can also be worn out due to excessive use and will deform and disintegrate. Sanageyama demonstrated this during his battle against COVERS, where his uniform was destroyed due to overuse. During a few episodes, Ryūko Matoi fought uniforms powered up by pieces of her own Kamui. These uniforms displayed increased power in terms of the abilities used by each selected student. One-Star (一ひとつ星ぼし, Hitotsuboshi) uniforms are the most common variety of Goku Uniform, comprised of 10% Life Fiber. The male version is a light gray gakuran uniform with a single large four-pointed star symbol emblazoned on the center of the jacket, and a smaller white star on its collar; and the female version is a white one-piece sailor uniform with blue scarfs, collars and highlights and a small black star on the front of the collar. They were later upgraded by Shirō Iori and the sewing club using data from the Elite Four's battles with Ryūko Matoi in preparation for the Tri-City Schools Raid Trip. The upgraded Goku Uniform took the form of colored tracksuits with white highlights, the school label on the left breast and with the kanji '襲' (Raid) printed in red on the back. The Goku Uniforms are colored according to the division the students report to: green for the athletic clubs, pink for the non-athletic clubs, yellow for the disciplinary committee and blue for the information and strategy team. After the raid trip, the uniforms were once again upgraded, with the tracksuits being replaced by the original gakuran and sailor uniforms, which were recolored white with gold highlights and the smaller collar star was changed to gold as well. Interestingly, this new color scheme makes it appear that the uniforms were designed in replication of Junketsu's own. The Goku Uniforms were later recreated and further upgraded by Shirō Iori in preparation for the final battle against Ragyō. Their white color was changed to black and the star emblazoned on the front was changed to white, though the gold highlights were retained. Two-Star (二ふたつ星ぼし, Futatsuboshi) uniforms are made of 20% Life Fiber and are exclusively given to club presidents (though not every club president gets one). Their appearance and application varies greatly, with the main distinction of these uniforms being the reddish lining over many surfaces, sometimes over some parts of the uniform, and always over the uniform's stars and manifested weaponry. Three-Star (三みつ星ぼし, Mitsuboshi) uniforms are the highest-ranking Goku Uniform, made from 30% Life Fiber. The Three-Star Uniforms are worn exclusively by the Student Council's Elite Four and Shirō Iori. Each uniform's design and abilities are uniquely attributed to its wearer's default capabilities. When worn, they make their users completely immune to attacks from One-Star and Two-Star uniforms. They are also able to transform in a similar manner to Kamuis and grant the users overwhelming and unique powers. They were initially of a bluish-white and silver color scheme, though they were later upgraded by Shirō Iori and the sewing club using data from the Elite Four's battles with Ryūko Matoi in preparation for the Tri-City Schools Raid Trip and recolored pure white with gold highlights. The Goku Uniforms were later recreated and further upgraded by Shirō Iori in preparation for the final battle against Ragyō. Their white color was changed to black and the stars emblazoned on the front are changed to white, though the gold highlights were retained. Five-Star (五いつつ星ぼし, Itsutsuboshi) uniforms have been created at least once for testing purposes by the Sewing Club. These uniforms, composed of 50% Life Fiber, have been shown in at least one occasion to grant incredible physical strength and muscle mass gain to regular students, though causing them to go berserk. S.S. Naked Sun (裸はだかの太たい陽よう丸まる, Hadaka no Taiyōmaru), also known as the Naked Sol, is a thin bodied and wide topped carrier constructed with funding from the Takarada Conglomerate and is Nudist Beach's last line of defense; the organization released her as a way to rescue Lady Satsuki from Honnōji Academy, dubbed "Operation Rescue Satsuki." The S.S. Naked Sun is dry docked in the underground Nudist Beach base under Osaka. During launch, the Dōtonbori gate will open and Osaka will begin to part itself as the ship is lifted through the water to her floating position. She is powered by several turbines resembling oversized Hamster wheels, with the crew being the hamsters. When run by Mako Mankanshoku wearing her 2-Star Goku Uniform, it was able to withstand the ridiculous amount of speed it was gathering. In her closed form, she resembles a seam ripper, an item used for removing threads from clothing. Incidentally, Aikurō Mikisugi dubs it as the Great Naked Dagger and uses the aforementioned boost to help Ryūko Matoi destroy the Original Life Fiber, speeding right through it and blowing a hole on its back, leaving the Naked Sun's lower deck stuck on one of Honnōji Academy's walls, while the Blades fell into the City. Before the final assault on Honnōji Academy, the cast had Mitsuzō Soroi's tea and then ran into the entrance to the Academy. The S.S. Naked Sun is seen again in episode 25 as it's still stuck on the lower deck of Honnōji Academy's walls. It was wielded as a weapon by the Honnōji Academy's "Final Defense Apparatus", activated by Rei Hōōmaru to take vengeance on the perpetrators of Ragyō Kiryūin and Nui Harime's death, but was quickly destroyed by the Rending Scissors' Final Graduation Mode. The Dōtonbori Robo, abbreviated to DTR, are battle mechs used by Nudist Beach. They first appeared during the subjugation of Osaka by the hands of Sanageyama's raid trip. The first visible Dōtonbori Robo was Kaneo Takarada's in the form of a golden crab. Other forms of the DTR include the standard Nudist Beach Dōtonbori Robo form, Aikurō's commander DTR and Tsumugu Kinagase's heavily armored Green DTR seen in episode 20. In episode 25, the Elite Four got their own customized DTR's, which were created for the battle against Ragyō Kiryūin but not used because the Elite Fours "overblown resistance". They briefly used for combat against the false Elite Four, but the pilots promptly ditched them due to being too uncomfortable and difficult to control. Hōka Inumuta was able to control them remotely, though. A common theme in the name is Aikurō's hatred of the name and his insistence on referring to it as DTR. Going as far as to type it in large letters on Hōka's laptop to get him to understand. Abekamo Academy (安部加茂学園, Abekamo Gakuen) is an academy that is located in Kyōto. It is the target assigned to Nonon Jakuzure's party during the Tri-City Schools Raid Trip. The Academy is protected by it's Four Guardian Students, who are able to summon apparitions of different creatures. During Jakuzure's attack, the Guardian students claimed it had stood for a thousand years, though she is highly sceptical of this claim. After some help from Hōka Inumuta to defeat the summons of the Guardians, Jakuzure managed to capture the Academy in the name of Honnōji Academy. Honnō City is a city built on an artificial island and divided into four levels that separate the poor from the rich. The status of wealth depends on the student's progress at school signified by the rank of their Goku Uniform. The higher the Star ranking, the more prestigious the standard of living, with No-Stars being relegated to the slums. The poorer districts are further away from the academy and the richer ones are closer to it. In the end credits of episode 24, Honnō City is later seen fully submerged at the bottom of Tokyo Bay. The reason of this later revealed to be result of Ryūko Matoi's battle against Rei Hōōmaru which resulted in it's citizens evacuating as seen in episode 25, though damage it sustained from the final battle against Revocs Corporation already severe enough to prompt its abandonment. Honnōji Academy (本ほん能のう字じ学がく園えん, Honnōji Gakuen) is a high school located atop Honnō City and is the primary setting of Kill la Kill. Honnōji Academy seemingly shared the same purpose and systems with regular school in Japan, but in actuality, it was built as the main testing ground of Life Fiber experiments (particularly Goku Uniform) commissioned by Ragyō Kiryūin herself, with Satsuki Kiryūin being charged to govern it along with the city. Because of Satsuki's totalitarian rule over both the school and the city itself, living and studying at Honnōji Academy are best described as an exercise in survival at its extreme, with its students (particularly No-Star ones) finding themselves oppressed by iron-fist disciplinarians and abusive, if not outright excessively strict club presidents. Power struggle seemed to be a recurring occurrence as promotion rewards the students better, if not outright luxurious life standards and even control over the school. Those who disobeyed the rules would be severely punished, though death sentence occurs once the offender genuinely pose a threat to the school's well-being such as attempted theft of one of Goku Uniforms. Even so, it's later revealed that Satsuki has a more noble motive in running the school: Whereas Ragyō only used it to ensure the Primordial Life Fiber's success in assimilating both humanity and Earth, Satsuki turned the school into a boot camp to amass enough army to combat Revocs Corporation and stop their insidious plan, all while weeding out the weak to ensure the success of that goal. While it appeared that Satsuki perceived Ryūko Matoi and her Kamui Senketsu as an obstacle between her forces and their goals, she deliberately turned the entire school against Ryūko to see the flaws in their Goku Uniforms. Unfortunately, her connection with her mother Ragyō, coupled with her extreme methods, put her at odds with Nudist Beach despite both the school and resistance group shared a common goal. It is only after Satsuki unveiled her true agenda and failed attempt in overthrowing Revocs with her own methods that alliance between both groups eventually possible. In the episode 24 end credits, Honnō City (along with Honnōji Academy) is later seen in the bottom of Tokyo Bay. Kami-Kōbe High School (神神戸高校, Kami Kōbe Kōkō) is a high school that is located in Kōbe. It is the target assigned to Ira Gamagōri's party during the Tri-City Schools Raid Trip. Being a port city, the school building for Kami-Kōbe High School is modeled after a sailing ship. This also accounts for the diversity of the school's allies, they had an American Football team present to help defend them and also had a tank imported from the Russian mafia. Ultimately, none of these were able to stop the High School from falling and being taken in the name of Satsuki Kiryūin and Honnōji Academy. The Kiryūin Manor is the residence of the Kiryūin family. The Original Life Fiber is located within a secret chamber in the manor. In Episode 16, Satsuki Kiryūin is brought back to the manor by her mother to recouperate. Afterwards, Ragyō shows Satsuki the room where the Original Life Fiber resides. In Episode 18, Mitsuzō Soroi, Shirō Iori, and the Sewing Club infiltrate the manor in order to destroy the Original Life Fiber. The mission ended in a failure causing Mitsuzō, Shirō, and the remaining Sewing Club members to retreat. The Matoi Residence is the former home of Ryūko Matoi and Isshin Matoi. It is where Isshin's laboratory is located and where he was murdered by Nui Harime. It is also where Senketsu was created and remained hidden until Ryūko found him. Moments after Isshin's murder, the mansion was struck by an explosion (presumably from a bomb planted by Nui) and consumed by the fire that ensued, leaving only its scorched remains. Naniwa Kinman High School (難波金満高校, Naniwa Kinman Kōkō) is a high school that is located in Ōsaka. It is the target assigned to Uzu Sanageyama's party during the Tri-City Schools Raid Trip. Not unlike Honnōji Academy, the institution controls the surrounding city. The academy's philosophy is based on wealth, and as such, the entirety of Ōsaka is administered under a heavily capitalist regime. The school manages and distributes its own currency, Takarada Bucks, to the population. The institution flaunts its vast wealth to the point that money bills are used as weapons and ammunition by the school troops. Nudist Beach (ヌーディスト・ビーチ, Nūdisuto Bīchi?) is a rebel organization founded by Isshin Matoi. Its goal is to thwart the plans of the REVOCS Corporation to subjugate the world to the will of the Life Fibers. As the name implies, its members work almost or completely naked most of the time. Their emblem is an outline of underpants made of the letters "NDB" in white color, inside a black circle with a red "X" over it. Near the end of the Tri-City Schools Raid Trip, a big part of the organization's facilities were destroyed. However, there still remains a part which was left intact. While it looks ragged from the outside, it has a lot more inside. Fitting to the name, it has sand and water like a beach. As the rebels are opposed to Life Fibers, they almost never wear any themselves. Instead, they fight using practical means such as subterfuge, sabotage, traps, and other guerrilla style tactics. They are shown to use technologically advanced bipedal machines called Dōtonbori Robos (or "DTRs"), and weapons designed to fight Life Fibers directly; like the special jamming bullet Tsumugu delivered to Mikisugi during the First Naturals Election. The organization's base is situated in Ōsaka. Along with the other schools of the Kansai region, Kaneo Takarada is a supporter of their cause. They were the ones who gave him his anti-Goku Uniform powered exoskeleton, the Dōtonbori Robo. As of episode 19, Nudist Beach has absorbed the Student Council into their ranks. In episode 21, when Senketsu is torn off of Satsuki, she is seen wearing Nudist Beach's Guerrilla uniform. Though it may just be a spare set of clothing she is wearing, it is assumed she is now a part of Nudist Beach. The Revocs Corporation (リボックス社しゃ, Ribokkusu Sha?) was a heavily influentional textile company owned by the Kiryūin conglomerate. Revocs Corporation was arguably found not long after Ragyō Kiryūin's discovery of the Primordial Life Fiber. As of episode 21, the company accounts for 100% of global apparel industry sales. Behind the façade of a regular textile company, however, the company's goal is to assist COVERS in disseminating Life Fibers throughout the world. Every piece of clothing issued by the company contains a small amount of dormant Fibers, waiting to awaken and feed on their human wearers. In the light of final battle in Episode 24, Revocs Corporation is rendered out of business. Rinne-Dō Junior High is a junior high school where Ira Gamagōri and Satsuki Kiryūin attended. Located in an unspecified part of Japan, Rinne-Dō Junior High is the school where Ira Gamagōri attended during his time as school president. There were some problems with the local bullies Hōjō and Imagawa. When an unnamed student one day accidentally spilled milk on Imagawa as seen in a flashback, she and Hōjō along with their gang took the boy to the roof of the school and ordered him to jump off it to prevent his father from being fired.. Ira showed up in an attempt to prevent the boy's forced suicide. Imagawa claimed to Ira that she wouldn't be arrested for this orchestration since her father is the town's police chief. Despite Ira's attempts, the student jumps anyway. However, the student is saved "The Kiryūin's Deluxe Trampoline". Satsuki Kiryūin then shows up with her butler Mitsuzō Soroi on the upper part of the roof complimenting her trampoline move. After being threatened by the bullies and Ira grabbing the student, Satsuki revealed that she had already removed the bullies' parents from their positions of power by buying out the company owned by Hōjō's dad and exposing Imagawa's dad for taking bribes that led to his arrest. After single-handedly defeating the bullies and their gang with her katana, Satsuki announced her rule over the entire junior high school body. The Tri-City Schools Raid Trip is a Honnōji Academy event established by Satsuki Kiryūin; the purpose of which was to attack the remaining schools in the Kansai region that were still not under the control of Honnōji Academy and also to flush out the anti-clothing guerrillas, Nudist Beach. With all of Japan's schools under the control of Honnōji Academy except for the ones in the Kansai region, Satsuki decided to raid the schools in Ōsaka, Kyoto, and Kōbe, issuing students with new Goku Uniforms created based on the data from Ryūko Matoi's battles. Following Nui Harime's ambush on Ryūko Matoi which led to Senketsu getting torn up, Satsuki collects the scraps so that they may be distributed to suitable hosts in order to provide combat data during the raid trips. Satsuki begins the raids on the Tri-City Schools in Episode 14: In Kōbe, Ira Gamagōri leads the raid on Kami-Kōbe High School led by Kyūji Ōbayashi and Kenta Sakuramiya. Gamagōri scores victory in his raid. In Kyoto, Nonon Jakuzure leads the raid on Abekamo Academy where her forces face off against the guardian students Tarō Genbu, Jirō Suzaku, Saburō Seiryū, and Shirō Byakko. The students working for the guardian students were defeated by Nonon's forces. In Ōsaka, Uzu Sanageyama leads the raid on Naniwa Kinman High School with it's forces led by Kaneo Takarada. He is defeated by Uzu and Satsuki. Hōka Inumuta and Shirō Iori did not take part in the battle and had created upgraded Goku uniforms for the rest of the Elite Four. Although a holographic projection of Hōka did assist Nonon in fighting the Guardian Students at Kyoto. During the conflict, Mako Mankanshoku started going around Ōsaka collecting souvenirs to bring home to her family. Upon recuperating, Ryūko and one of Senketsu's pieces caught up to each of the armies where she reclaims each fragment and reassembles Senketsu while reclaiming the Seki Tekkō from Satsuki during their duel. Ryūko and Satsuki's duel ended in a draw as Satsuki escapes. A good portion of the Nudist Beach hideout is destroyed by Nonon, while Ōsaka suffers heavy devastation as a result of the battle. The resulting event led up to The Great Culture and Sport Festival. The Great Culture and Sport Festival (大文化体育祭, Dai Bunka Tai Ikusai), also known as the Cultural and Sports Grand Festival, is a celebration organized in Honnōji Academy after the students return from the Tri-City Schools Raid Trip. The school was rebuilt into a huge stadium, which was named Ragyō Stadium. All inhabitants of Honnō City were given a special formal suit to set up a welcome ceremony for the Board of Directors Chair and CEO of Revocs Corporation, Ragyō Kiryūin. Every citizen has an obligation to participate in the ceremony, any absence being severely punished. When the VIPs, Ragyō Kiryūin, her assistant, Rei Hōōmaru, and the Grand Couturier, Nui Harime, entered the stadium, it came to light that the ceremony was in actuality set up as a test for a large scale COVERS invasion. The suits given to the people of Honnō City had Life Fibers in them, and when Ragyō began the Festival, the residents became trapped in cocoon-shaped Life Fibers, which were later absorbed by COVERS. During the people's entrapment by their costumes, Ryūko Matoi with Aikurō Mikisugi and Tsumugu Kinagase enter the arena. Whilst Ragyō was speaking to Ryūko, Satsuki backstabs her with the Bakuzan and hurls her into a statue bearing the school insignia, announcing her rebellion. She revealed that Honnōji Academy and it's students were, all along, a force created to fight against Ragyō and the Life Fibers. The people are freed, the Elite Four battle against Nui, and Satsuki tells Ragyō that the whole truth about COVERS and Life Fibers were told to her by her father. When Satsuki lunges for the final blow, Rei comes in with a defense for Ragyō, which Satsuki breaks with just a single blow. This, however, gives time for Ragyō to release Life Fiber threads to control the minds of the academy students, including Ryūko. Satsuki is then attacked by a mind-controlled Ryūko but Ryūko manages to break free from the power of Ragyō, and then moves to attack Ragyō but is suddenly interrupted. Above in the sky, there were hundreds of COVERS. Ragyō then says that her body had fused with Life Fibers and can't be killed. Satsuki then battles Ragyō but loses and is stripped out of Junketsu, which Ragyō then dons for herself. She then attacks Ryūko and pulls out her heart, revealing that Ryūko is also infused with Life Fibers. Ragyō then reveals that Ryūko is her daughter. The Student Council is the administration that governs the Honnōji Academy, led by Satsuki Kiryūin. All known members of the student council have Two or Three-Star Goku Uniforms (with the exception of Satsuki who has a Kamui), all of which are made by the Sewing Club, which is presided by council member Shirō Iori. Those with Two-Star Uniforms tend to be people manually sent by Satsuki to defeat Ryūko to collect her Scissor Blade. Such people include Takaharu Fukuroda and Omiko Hakodate. In episode 19, the Student Council officially joined Nudist Beach in their battle against Revocs Corporation and the COVERS. The COVERS proceeded to capture people and absorb their bodies. Ryūko cuts the hand of Ragyō that was holding her heart, to which the heart slips back inside Ryūko and Ragyō attaches her dismembered hand. Ryūko then proceeds to attack Ragyō but is overwhelmed by both her and Nui. The battle is interrupted by a then-conscious Satsuki, whose last plan was to press a button which causes the explosion of the entire academy. The Elite Four (四し天てん王のう, Shitennō), sometimes referred to as the Four Heavenly Kings or the Four Devas, are the top members of the student council, answering only to Satsuki Kiryūin. All of them have a Three-Star Goku Uniform. Every member of The Elite Four has a role to play in the school system.
