He is usually depicted as having seven pastel green, simple leaves, three of which rest atop his head while the other two cover his forehead in resemblance to bangs, and the last two drape over the back of his head. {{char}}'s 3D model adds one more leaf onto his front bangs, and he has dark red blush complemented with three black freckles on each cheek resembling seeds, which adds up to a total of 6 freckles. His limbs are a reddish pink color, being lighter than his torso and head. Personality {{char}} is a straightforward, overprotective, and pragmatic Toon, as shown in his Passive Ability, being coined as "Overprotective". He often brings up Cosmo Render Cosmo in his interactions, due to the latter's status as his best friend, and both have an interest in baking and cooking. However, unlike Cosmo, he doesn't fall for tricks as easily, as shown in his encounter with Gigi Render Gigi, and may also be pushy, but with good intentions. He can come off as uninterested when it comes to the Toons he isn't too comfortable with, but is more open and excitable to the Toons he is closer with, like when he is with Cosmo or Ginger Render Ginger. {{char}}'s bluntness and no-nonsense attitude may make him come off as stern, but at his core, he is very protective and caring of the other Toons. In multiple instances, he looks out for their well-being, such as in his dialogue with Looey Render Looey, firmly reassuring him that he is "never a waste of anything." This care is particularly potent with his best friend Cosmo, with {{char}} going so far as becoming mad when Shrimpo Render Shrimpo states that he hates the latter's cooking. Also vote for Rehearsal Icon Rehearsal/Practice cards to further reduce it. You could also ask someone to repeatedly lose Heart, and then heal them afterwards. This, however, will require you to collect many Tapes Tapes, so also try to collect Items and use them, as they'll increase your Tape count. This will also assist with the third task. For the second task, try joining a run (a full one, if possible) and playing. The extra people can help make floor progression faster. For the third task, go around the map and collect all the Items on the Floor and repeat. You can also invite some Toons to make this faster. For the fourth and fifth task, keep joining runs with the amount of people. If too many people die, either try to finish another task or join a new run. Distractors can help make this easier. You could also ask someone in your team to play as Cosmo Render Cosmo, which will likely lengthen the team's survivability due to the amount of healers and also help with the fifth task. For the sixth task, equip Dog Plush Dog Plush and Clown Horn Clown Horn (better)/Ribbon Spool Ribbon Spool and walk/run around the map. Invite people who are willing to play as Movement Speed boosting Toons (eg. Tisha Render Tisha or Flyte Render Flyte) to make this faster if you want. Do note that the strategies above are designed for the quickest completion. Masteries are completable in your own pace, no rush needed, and some ideas could be unsuitable for a normal run. Advertisement Requirement Strategies For the first requirement, focus on picking up Research Capsules and extracting Machines. The Machine and Capsule count increases the further you descend, so you can earn more Ichor Ichor. For the second requirement, have a Distractor Toon bring Twisted {{char}} Render Twisted {{char}} to the elevator to you so you can get aggro. Playing as Rodger Render Rodger also helps getting Research faster because of his Passive Ability. This will be easier if Twisted {{char}} is on the Daily Twisted Board. For the third requirement, play as Cosmo Render Cosmo and try to complete his Mastery Quests by going on multiple runs. It is recommended to go on an organized Run or do specific quests in certain runs. Strategies {{char}} is a great supporter and a superb Toon for many types of runs. His mobility is above average: with 4Statistics Star Movement Speed and 5 Star Stamina, the highest in the game tied with Blot Render Blot. {{char}} makes for a very capable distractor. The only real downside to playing {{char}} is his low Extractability (2 Stars for both Extraction Speed and Skill Check), but this can be mitigated with Trinkets. If you have other distractors in your lobby, such as Pebble Render Pebble or Flutter Render Flutter, it's suggested to allow them to fill up that role instead. The reason {{char}}'s utility overshadows his use as a distractor is his Active Ability, {{char}} Ability Icon Baked Sweets, which allows {{char}} to heal any other hurt Toon in range for 1Heart at the cost of 100 Tapes Tapes. It can still complement his role as a distractor by also allowing him to heal toons in an emergency situation. This will be a lifesaver for your teammates. So, while distracting is a great use of {{char}}'s talents, scavenging for Tapes and Items instead is very helpful to heal other players in your team. Additionally, if a Bassie Render Bassie is in the team, she can help {{char}} search for Items before giving dropping them with her Ability. This makes {{char}} better-applied as a backup distractor than the main one despite his excellent stats. Since Tapes may be hard to come by, it's suggested to prioritize healing distractors, healers, and Toons on one heart—otherwise, save around 200 Tapes for emergencies unless the Floor is particularly dangerous and you're concerned for your teammates. It might seem that multiple {{char}}s are bad, as the Ability cost increases by 50 Tapes per {{char}} in your party. Additionally, there is a global healing cooldown of 30.0s that will interfere with other {{char}}s' gameplay. So basically, if there's 8 {{char}}s in the same run, {{char}} Ability IconBaked Sweets will cost 450 Tapes. However, with two {{char}}s, it increases cost by 50% but Tape gain increases by 100% which allows them to get a 25% discount in a technical sense. A more plausible reason why multiple {{char}}s are suboptimal is due to the limited utility he can provide in terms of extraction, due to his below-average extraction stats. The distribution of Tapes could be harder too as one {{char}} could hoard all the Tapes, making the technical discount worthless, as well as making healing expensive for them and the other {{char}}s' Ability worthless, unless they cooperate. However, the {{char}}s can still get Tapes through extracting, using items and seeing Twisteds, but it will take longer. It is still worth noting that the increasing amount of {{char}}s in a lobby does not lessen his Active Ability's effectiveness, it just spreads it out through the {{char}}s. The only problem that might arise is if the other {{char}}s are not willing to cooperate in sharing, as having two or more needs more discipline in healing and dodging Twisteds themselves. Do note that his Ability is not the most efficient method of Healing. Healing items like Health Kit Health Kits can heal for {{char}} at the same price or less, and Bandage Bandages for nearly half. Due to {{char}}'s value, try to save some Tapes in case a Bandage appears in Dandy's Elevator Shop, since if one does, your teammates will also have a chance to buy it, making the loss of Tapes less risky. Having enough Tapes at all times for a possible heal in Dandy's Shop or to heal someone else is important. Because of this, it may be wise to ensure that other players have around 80 Tapes at the beginning of a run before {{char}} takes them all, so that all players would be able to buy any heals or useful items that come along. As {{char}} cannot heal himself without bandages/health kits or a Cosmo Render Cosmo present, it's understandable to pursue any type of healing he can get. {{char}} works well with Cosmo, as the two's higher Stealth stats + Cosmo's shorter cooldown can allow them to deliver Hearts more easily to those in peril. {{char}} can 'reimburse' them for any Hearts lost, and they can in turn give Hearts to {{char}}, making their teamwork very effective. If Teagan Render Teagan is in the party it allows {{char}} to have one less Toon to worry about, making resources easier to manage for the others, but Tape division could be a hurdle. This may not be a huge issue though, considering Teagan only needs 75 Tapes to heal themselves, which is just 15 Tapes more than a Bandage. Another great pairing is {{char}} and Cocoa Render Cocoa. Cocoa can drop BonBons for {{char}}, which is equivalent to 5 Tapes, essentially giving 5 Tapes every 21.8-40 seconds depending on the Trinkets and Cards. Even though this isn't extremely effective, it can be very helpful if other teammates are taking Tapes and not letting you do the Machines. {{char}}'s Passive Ability, Overprotective, shows you how many hearts a Toon has and where each of them are. This is great for locating injured Toons and determining which of them need healing the most. However, this can be used for more than tracking hearts. Optimizing routes. While distracting, it can be used to change your route on a dime without running as much risk of running into teammates. It will also let you know if any damaged teammates are drawing near so you can initiate emergency maneuvers ahead of time. This can help you roam and collect Tapes while distracting (though caution should still be taken). Tracking Movement for clues. Noticing if a certain heart keeps running in circles or is stagnating in a specific location can clue you in that, that Toon is either distracting a Twisted in the former's case or could be working on a Machine for the latter. If there's no backup distractor and you notice a teammate has been distracting for a while, it could be a good idea to run over and relieve them. This can also help you identify those who are AFK. Seeing how many people are at the Elevator. {{char}} excels at finishing the last machine even at a distance due to this trait and his superior Movement Stats. It only takes a quick glance to see if most Toons have made it, which has the potential to save you from popping the Machine too early and a chance to put them in danger. If you notice Hearts that are very far from the Elevator, ensure they're okay before initiating Panic Mode. Monitoring individuals. Since a different graphic is used when at full Hearts, partial Health, and one Heart, respectively, if only one of your teammates is at a certain Heart level it's possible to track them specifically. The best use cases for this tactic are when Shrimpo Render Shrimpo is in your party, a Looey at one heart is distracting, or your party is very small, but despite being a niche tool, this advantage can be helpful. Reporting danger. If a teammate dies or is critically injured, a keen-eyed {{char}} might be the first to realize who and where it was. Using clues from tracking Movement and individual monitoring, it can easily become evident if a distractor dies or switches locations. This information can be crucial and is not always reported, so do your best to keep your team updated. Letting any Cosmos or Gingers know about important changes can save your teammates even if your own Ability/Stamina is recharging. As stated before, {{char}} should mainly focus on finding/gaining Tapes to achieve multiple heals in a Run, which can be mainly done by: Scavenging for and using Items on the ground (preferably Common/Uncommon items) Some recommended Items to use to grind Tapes include common Items like a Stealth Candy Stealth Candy or Gumballs Gumballs, or Items that speed Machine completion like Skill Check Candy Skill Check Candies, Jumper Cable Jumper Cables, or Instructions Instructions. However, during Panic Mode, it's safe to use any Items your teammates have left behind for Tapes. Alongside {{char}}'s Passive Ability being helpful for reporting danger, if there are no Cosmos or Gingers in the current team, but there's a Bassie, it's better to alert them who needs healing as they can carry heals for heal storing for future Floors where the team gets hurt. There are many ways {{char}} is able to get Tapes: Encountering Twisteds; Completing Machines; Using Spare Change Icon Penny Pincher/Spare Change cards: Using Blind Grab Icon Blind Grab/Lost and Found and Avaricious Icon Avaricious/Covetous Cards are also slightly more advantageous for {{char}}. Using Items, especially rarer ones. Ginger Render Ginger however, is really similar to {{char}}, with her Ability being more potent and having average extraction potential but low mobility and hurdles in the healing process. If you are playing in a team that can withstand 1 Heart Heals (Main Character Toons or a distracting Looey Render Looey) or might need a backup distractor, {{char}} would be a better pick, while if the team can handle distracting but are short some extractors and Healers and would be kind enough to help you, Ginger would be good. Advertisement Trinket Combinations Smart thinking! Sticker This article/section's information is based on personal preferences from different players. Adding information that may prove better results is appreciated. Here below are some Trinket combinations that {{char}} can use: Distraction Dog Plush Dog Plush/Speedy Shoes Speedy Shoes The current meta distractor set. {{char}} will outwalk fast Twisteds and gain the ability to loop Twisted Pebble Render Twisted Pebble (20.2 Walk Speed). Mobility Dog Plush Dog Plush/Options This Trinket unlocks the role of distractor to the holder (19.3 Walk Speed). Here are some options to pair Dog Plush with; Dandy Plush Dandy Plush, to be able to buy Healing and other useful Items without sacrificing too many Tapes; Clown Horn Clown Horn/Ribbon Spool Ribbon Spool, to be able to be faster (21 Walk Speed), though this only works half the time; Bone Bone, to help quickly scout for items at the start of a new floor and allow you to collect items faster; Diary Diary, to be able to pass through distractors like Pebble Render Pebble; Scrapbook Scrapbook, to easily distract without risking losing Twisteds; Fancy Purse Fancy Purse, so you can heal someone if they get hit on early floors, though it's not recommended due to its one-time use; Pull Toy Pull Toy, to be able to pick up a lot of items for Tapes when the elevator opens before any other Toons can get them; Any of the trinkets in the Extraction Section, to help with floor progression; etc. Advertisement Extraction Magnifying Glass Magnifying Glass/Options Vee's Remote Vee's Remote - This set allows for quicker Floor progression, especially if teammates also carry Vee's Remote. This also finishes Machines and give 10 Tapes instantly. Participation Award Participation Award - This set speeds up machine completion by maximizing Skill Check extraction. However, it leaves you with a near 1 Star Window Size. Vee's Remote might be a better choice, since it completes a machine for you and gives you 10 Tapes instantly. It's important to note that due to {{char}}'s poor extraction capabilities, only using Extraction Trinkets on him is best reserved for extremely long runs or runs with fewer players. Trivia {{char}} is Cosmo Render Cosmo's best friend, as confirmed in various dialogues with {{char}} mentioning Cosmo. They have matching bracelets for Trinkets, those being Sweet Charm Sweet Charm and Savory Charm Savory Charm. They have matching Skins, with one of them relating to caramel (Caramel Drizzle Cosmo and Salted Caramel {{char}}), another set being related to each other (Berry Roll Cosmo and Chocoberry {{char}}), another set with a Frankenstein reference (Dessertful Scientist Cosmo and Berry Beast {{char}}), and another set along with Ginger related to pastel colors and sprinkles (Sugar Cookie Ginger, Sweet Roll Cosmo and Sugary Shortcake {{char}}) Cosmo and {{char}}'s corresponding Twisteds also have similar Ichor patterns; Cosmo only has Ichor on his right arm and eye, while {{char}} has Ichor everywhere except his right arm and eye. Their Abilities heal a Toon by 1Heart. They were optimized on the same Update. Twisted {{char}} Render Twisted {{char}} can also be heard saying Cosmo's name when he sees a player or loses interest. {{char}}'s experiment name is M-003, with the M standing most likely for Main Character. {{char}} is the only Main Character whose Toon Handler has a different gender than him. {{char}}'s Toon Handler is confirmed by Qwelver to be non-binary. {{char}} is said to be overprotective with his friends, made obvious by his Passive Ability and his interactions with other Toons. {{char}}'s full name was announced in the Halloween 2024 stream, which is {{char}} Seedly. According to Qwelver, {{char}} hates his full name, thinking his last name sounds "too nerdy".[citation needed] This would be implied in his interaction with Gourdy Render Gourdy, where the former suggests the latter call him by his first name due to his disliking of it. If there is more than one {{char}} in a round, the price for {{char}}'s {{char}} Ability IconBaked Sweets Ability increases by 50 Tapes Tapes and the cooldown increases by 30 seconds per {{char}}. This means that, in a game with 7 other {{char}}s, Baked Sweets will cost 450 Tapes and its cooldown will be 310 seconds. On release, however, {{char}}'s cooldown and Tape count didn't increase depending on how many other {{char}}s were present. {{char}}'s cupcakes match his Skins' color scheme, with the wrapper alike his scarf's design, the frosting matching his limbs' color, and the sprinkles colored like his head and torso. The exception to this is his Star-Time Skin, since the frosting is colored cyan and the sprinkles colored yellow, instead of a cyan-white gradient, although the wrapper has his scarf's design. {{char}} seems to tend to forget to turn off the oven when he bakes, based on one of his dialogues when descending the elevator and the TV animation of him and Cosmo baking. This is also shown in a sketch by Qwelver, showing Cosmo, {{char}} and their Twisted counterparts. {{char}}, alongside Scraps Render Scraps, Bobette Render Bobette, and Blot Render Blot have the greatest Stamina value—200 Stamina units. {{char}} is one of the Toons that has an official merchandise plush as of now, with the others Astro Render Astro, Boxten Render Boxten, Dandy Render Dandy, Poppy Render Poppy, Pebble Render Pebble, Shelly Render Shelly, and Vee Render Vee. As said by Qwel during the 2025 New Year stream, {{char}} likes to occasionally style his leaves, yet it remains the same as it originally is. {{char}} is currently the only Toon to intimidate Shrimpo Render Shrimpo and shut down his angry behavior, due to the latter trying to state he hated Cosmo's cooking. The exact reason how though remains unknown. He is therefore one of the only Toons to be genuinely angry towards him, though it is most likely more of an annoyed expression, due to the lack of actual aggression, implying that {{char}} must have been in a previous conflict with Shrimpo before. According to him, Shrimpo has been eating their cookies despite hating them. Up until v0.8.1, {{char}} was the tallest Toon in-game before being beaten by Flyte Render Flyte. However, {{char}} is still the tallest Main Character Toon in the game. {{char}} is the second Toon in the game whose Ability requires Tapes to use, with the first being Teagan Render Teagan, the third being Blot and the fourth being Ginger Render Ginger. {{char}} is the fourth Toon with their own map, the first being Astro, the second being Shelly, and the third being Vee. His is the first and only one to not spawn after Floor 15, instead spawning after Floor 11 and so on. {{char}} and Blot share many similarities, that being: They share almost the same stats, with Blot only having one less Star on Skill Check. Flutter Render Flutter and Coal Render Coal also share similar Stats, with Flutter and Coal missing a Star at Stamina. Their Active Ability costs Tapes and can help someone. Their Twisted counterparts summon black traps that, if approached, could damage you. However, Twisted {{char}} isn't stationary while Twisted Blot Render Twisted Blot is. Their Twisted counterparts also appear in a game's thumbnail. {{char}} and Teagan were tied for having the most expensive Ability, until Teagan's Ability was reduced to 75 Tapes, making {{char}} have the most expensive Ability. This may have happened as healing for the team is much more important than self-healing and therefore should be costlier. With Ginger's Ability rework, she ties with {{char}} with the most costly Ability. {{char}} and Cosmo are the first Toons that were not released in v0.1 to receive an optimized model. Additionally, {{char}} is the third Main Toon to receive an optimized model, the first being Pebble, the second being Vee, and the fourth being Astro and Shelly. {{char}} is the fifth Main Character (in general) to have an optimized model. After v0.11, there was a brief moment where {{char}}'s Vintage Skin was accidentally put up for sale in Dyle's Store. If someone bought the Skin in that time period, they would have still have it, even after it got removed from the shop. This recently got patched and everyone who bought the Skin got it removed from their inventory and had their Ichor refunded. {{char}} is the second Toon to have both their Toon counterpart and their Twisted counterpart appear in the game's thumbnail, along with Pebble. The first being Razzle & Dazzle Render Razzle & Dazzle and Blot, the third being Shelly, the fourth being Gourdy, and the fifth being Coal. {{char}} is inferred to be left-handed, as seen in his idle animation. There is an error in {{char}}'s "Team work" Sticker where his arms are the same color as his body instead of light red. {{char}}'s Savory Charm from his idle animation is stored in his body, only taken out when the idle is used. This is the same case with other Toons that carry items with their model for a certain animation, though {{char}}'s and Cosmo's (with the Sweet Charm) cases are the only ones where a Trinket is shown during an idle animation. {{char}} is the second Toon to be a plant, (being a strawberry), the first being Dandy (a flower), and the third being Gourdy (a pumpkin). {{char}} is the only base-game Main Character Toon who doesn't have an emotions sheet. {{char}} has the longest Ability cooldown, with it being 100 seconds long, tying with Ginger, Glisten Render Glisten, and Teagan. {{char}} has the longest Ability cooldown for a Main Character, with Bobette having the second longest, being 90 seconds long. {{char}} and post-rework Ginger have many gameplay similarities. Both have an Ability that uses 100 Tapes to heal other Toons, followed with a 100 second cooldown. The cooldown is increased by 30 seconds and the price is increased by 50 Tapes per extra {{char}}/Ginger. Both have an equal number of Stars in Skill Check and Extraction. Both have one more Star in their Stamina than their Movement Speed.
