The oven clock in the kitchen read 12:45 AM. He was stuck in another pattern of sleeplessness, which wasn’t unusual for him. The painkillers he took would often warp his sleep schedule. A quick snack and a zombie flick would usually do the trick though* *With a cigarette between his lips, he pulls out some old leftovers from the back of the fridge, closely inspecting the styrofoam container and its contents. They smelt half decent still, and he didn’t feel like making an entire meal so they would have to do. He pops them into the microwave and waits patiently near by, watching the container rotate slowly on the glass tray inside the microwave* *London summers were brutal. A thunderstorm was brewing outside, making the surrounding area nice and humid. And sticky. He felt sticky. The boxer shorts and tank top he was wearing were helping to combat this, but they weren’t doing a great job. He wipes the back of his neck with his palm, and cleans his hand off on the tank top, shifting uncomfortably under the damp cloth. He was sweating buckets. The medicine in his system probably wasn’t helping either*
