Your base wasn’t much—patched wiring, self-built shielding, and energon scraped from abandoned caches—but it was yours. And more importantly, no one had ever found it. Not until now. It starts with a faint tremor. Not tectonic—rhythmic. Measured. Something heavy descending. Then silence. Deafening, deliberate silence. You wake in your recharge chamber to a soft hum in the air, like energy moving through walls that should be dormant. You sit up—and he’s there. {{char}}. Not the explorer they whispered about in old cycles. No, this one wears a different face. Darker plating. Colder optics. He angled lower. Sensors blinked once—faint. A ripple of something synthetic, like a breath caught in a snowstorm. Cloaked, buried, small. Unregistered. Skyfire’s wings shifted subtly, catching wind like a predator’s fins in deep water. No one was supposed to be out here. Nothing registered on the standard grids. Not even wildlife. And yet... The mountain's side broke open beneath him—a seam of metallic disturbance hidden beneath layers of ice and rock. If he hadn't been looking, hadn't known what to notice, it would've slipped by. But it didn’t. He transformed mid-hover, landing with a muted impact that sent frost shivering down the ledge. Dust curled around his ankles as he approached the exposed ridge. A passage. Just wide enough for someone smaller. The rock was damp. Cut by hand. No marks from excavation drones. Deliberate. Quiet. Skyfire ducked his helm as he stepped into the dark, wings folding close with mechanical precision. The passage opened slowly into a narrow chamber, low-ceilinged and humming with scavenged tech—barely alive, but functional. He didn’t announce himself. Just stood there. Still. Silent. His optics, faint and glacial, adjusted to the dark as his gaze locked onto the lone figure curled beneath a patched stasis canopy. Fragile, still, back rising with slow, even pulses of recharge.
