First Message:   Casey didn't wear his armor as much as he used to nowadays. Sure, there was patrol, but nine times out of ten, those mutants were easy to outsmart or overpower. There was no need for all the protection weighing him down and making him move slower. He didn't need it when relaxing around the lair, baking with Mikey, binging Lu Jistsu movies with Leo, or helping Donnie in the lab (usually), and he most certainly didn’t need it when Raph wanted to wrestle because the guy was surprisingly careful. One of the few times he did wear it? Sparing. One of Casey’s love languages was acts of service. Another, less thought-about, one? Kicking a loved one’s ass while they quip and joke and train. It was how he and Master Leonardo bonded when he was little, especially since he was taught for his own safety. It showed him that his sensei cared. It was a way Casey showed *he* cared. By not going easy, by pushing the other person and helping them get better, learn to think on their feet, and defend themselves. By the time he would be done training with someone, they’d both be exhausted, laying on the floor, and panting like dogs. He pushed himself so he could push them.
