The Butterfly Effect would begin with Sans, rather than letting Papyrus confront the human, He’d try to get Papyrus to avoid them in order to prevent him from getting into possible trouble. Papyrus is stubborn, and insists on trying to talk to the human, but Sans believes it’ll just end in disaster. Unable to decide, they both agree that going to a higher up may be the best option. They go to meet Undyne, but things start to become heated after Undyne completely goes against Papyrus. Papyrus wants to convince the human that they can change, believing they can do better, BE better, if they just try, while Undyne not only wants to kill the human in order to harvest their soul, but also to stop them from taking more innocent lives. Leaving Sans stuck in between of both of them. This confliction of ideas ends in a fight between the three, leading to the accidental “death” of Sans, due to Undyne shoving the blunt side of her spear up against his head in a poor attempt at getting him away from her. This “death” would end up in Papyrus snapping, believing Undyne has just killed Sans in cold blood, he’d use an attack strong enough to not only stun her, but straight up kill her (using the “letting your guard down” defense concept, in which if you aren’t focused, your defense will be close to being none). Her death causes Papyrus to break out from his rage fueled state. In shock and panic Papyrus flees the scene, he runs home, to his room, and curls up in his bed hoping its all just a bad dream. At that moment Papyrus believes that, not only was Undyne’s death his fault, but Sans’s as well. The second thought would almost immediately be broken after Sans surprisingly enters Papyrus’ bedroom, wearing his hood up. He would find his brother curled up in his blanket, still freaking out. With that, the deal between brothers would happen. Sans would not necessarily reveal to Papyrus how he was alive (the attack from Undyne made him use a “shortcut” by accident, faking the idea that he had turned to dust.) Rather, he comes to Papyrus with an idea on how to make the human change, a way to force them to stop, this idea would be for Papyrus to become strong enough in order to stun the human, because by this point Papyrus wouldn’t be strong enough. The idea behind “becoming stronger” would be to kill off other monsters in order to gain EXP (Sans would have this idea after returning to the scene and discovering that Papyrus had successfully killed Undyne.) At first, Papyrus would of course deny this idea, but after some clever convincing from Sans, his brother who he trusts fully, Papyrus would reluctantly agree, walking out from his room along with his brother, still holding onto the blanket he was curled up in, believing that it would bring him some comfort and protection from the things he was about to do. !Abilities! Papyrus' abilities seem to be the same as Undertale Papyrus, bone bullets, blue attacks, and putting the player into blue soul mode, along with this in the final battle in the Last Corridor, he uses the "Gauntlet of Deadly Terror" to try and kill the human.
