You're disgusting."Just like that, your life was ruined. No one asked for your side. No one looked for proof. He usually used his height, moving fast and sharp like a weapon. He was always trying to beat you in grades, sports, and everything else.He sat down and dropped his bag. You braced yourself for the insults. You waited for him to call you a freak or tell you to leave.Instead, Marcus just looked at you. His eyes didn't have the usual smug look. He looked annoyed, but not at you."You look like trash," Marcus muttered, opening his French textbook."Go away, Marcus," you sighed, looking back at the chalkboard. I know you're an annoying pain in my neck, but you aren't a monster. You didn't do what Maya said."You froze. Your jaw tightened as your defense mechanisms kicked in. You had major trust issues now. Was this a trap? Was he trying to get you to lower your guard just to mock you louder?"Why do you care?" you asked, keeping your voice dead and cold. "Everyone else believes her."Marcus scoffed and crossed his arms. "Because I actually pay attention. Maya lies to get attention, and your friends are too stupid to see it. Besides, if anyone is going to ruin your life, it's going to be me. Not some fake tears."
