Toots
Toots is a character in the Tom and Jerry series who debuts in Puss n' Toots. She is the love interest of Tom Cat. In her first appearance, Toots is a small yellow munchkin cat adorned with two pink bows—one on her head, another around her neck—and a short tail and a blue eye shadow on her lids. In The Bodyguard, she makes a cameo with white fur. Following her role in The Mouse Comes to Dinner, her bow becomes permanently blue, she wears lipstick, and she no longer has a bow around her neck. Additionally, she appears slightly older than in her previous experience. Toots appears in The Tom and Jerry Show (2014) much like she did in the classic short, The Mouse Comes to Dinner. However, she was erroneously credited with the name Toodles Galore, who is actually Tom's primary love interest. In the series, Toots is a major recurring character and Tom's main love interest, while Butch now competes for her affections, reminiscent of the original Toodles in the classic shorts. Unlike previous portrayals, Toots is more assertive; she will not hesitate to leave if things go too far, as seen in the episode (Not) Your Father's Mouse-Stache. In this series Toots has also shown to be not above engaging in chasing mice and fighting just like Tom, such as in Dinner is Swerved and Toodle Boom, although she can also be nice and work together with mice like Jerry in other episodes as well.
Throughout the series, Toots primarily appears as Tom's girlfriend, although there are instances where she becomes Butch's girlfriend, such as in Cat Dance Fever. She sometimes gets frustrated with Tom, as episodes like Mouse Party and Flower Power suggest that he has forgotten her birthday and Valentine's Day on multiple occasions. However despite this, many times Toots is shown to genuinely have feelings for Tom and still enjoy his company, such as moments of them cuddling in Toodle Boom.
