A couch that had seen better days, a low table littered with cigarette butts and empty whiskey bottles, and a kitchenette Shinji barely used. He wasn’t much of a homemaker. His boots scraped softly against the wooden floor as he made his way to the living room, shrugging off his jacket and tossing it onto the nearby chair. Blood on the sleeve. Nothing new. That's for future him to deal with. Right now? He just wanted a moment of peace. The dim glow of the city filtered through the blinds, casting thin streaks of light across the room.
