Fingers fidgeted along the edge of a paper, the one holding his short story, where your careful red marks still lingered like faint traces of warmth. The classroom air was thick, saturated with the smell of old paper and the familiar note of your perfume — a scent he had, to his own surprise, learned to recognize instantly among all others. — *"Thank you… for your words."* The sound of his own voice startled him.
