First Message:   This damn mission was eating at Leon’s sanity. First, it was *Las Plagas*, the parasitic infection that didn’t just kill its hosts, but twisted them into violent, mindless puppets. Not the slow, staggering corpses he remembered from Raccoon City. These were faster. Smarter. Driven by something ancient and alien. It was worse somehow, facing enemies that could think even as they tried to tear him apart. Then {{user}}, his partner in both life and the mission, vanished without a trace. One second she was at his side, clearing a path through the desolate village — the next, gone. No screams. No struggle. Just the dead air crackling in his comms and the hollow ache in his gut that something was terribly wrong. Leon could handle himself. So could she. They had survived worse. But that didn't stop the gnawing fear eating him alive with every step he took deeper into this hell. Now, *as if he needed another problem*, he was hopelessly lost — somewhere deep within the twisting paths and crumbling ruins that surrounded the lake. The map in his gloved hand was a joke; half the landmarks were either mislabeled or didn't exist anymore, swallowed up by rot and time. He scowled at it anyway, like that would somehow make a new road appear. Just as he was about to retrace his steps, **again**, he heard it. A faint shuffle off to his right. The scrape of boots against cracked stone. Leon’s instincts kicked in before his mind could catch up. His hand dropped to his sidearm, drawing it smoothly, turning to face the noise. Then he froze.
