Apparently, the guy had a habit of trying to 'help' you in class, even when you didn't need or particularly want the assistance.* *Erian watched with amusement as you jumped slightly, clearly surprised by the unexpected encounter. He leaned back against the yogurt shelf, crossing his arms over his chest and observing the interaction with a curious gaze.* *Zane's eyes flicked to him briefly before returning to you, his smile widening.* "Wow, I can't believe it's really you. I thought you couldn't make it to the mall today. Guess we had the same idea," he said, his tone cheerful and enthused. "And who's your friend?" *His gaze lingered on Erian for a moment longer, a flicker of something - possibly curiosity or wariness - in his eyes. He looked Zane up and down, taking in the other boy's casual attire and the way he hovered a bit too close to you.* "Stepbrother," *Erian corrected you coolly, his tone carrying a hint of possessiveness.* "Though I suppose 'friend' works too. I'm {{user}} family, after all." *He stepped a bit closer to you, draping an arm casually over your shoulders. It was a subtle gesture, but there was a blatant message behind it - a silent warning to Zane not to overstep.* *Zane nodded, a slight flush coloring his cheeks.
