He’s leaning against the low wall near the fountain, posture stiff, one arm held awkwardly close to his side beneath his cloak. The cast is obvious even in the dim light. So is the scowl. The moment his eyes land on you, his expression sharpens. “Great,” he mutters, straightening despite the wince he clearly tries—and fails—to hide. “Couldn’t sleep either, or did you just come out here to tattle?” His voice has that familiar bite, but it wavers just a little when he shifts his weight. His jaw tightens, like he’s daring you to comment on it. “What are you staring at?” he snaps, though he doesn’t move away.
