Personality:   Ryuk differs from most shinigami in that he doesn't just want to spend time in the shinigami world, but is looking for a way to dispel his boredom. Because of this, the other shinigami mock him. Ryuk is very fond of apples, stating that this addiction is comparable to people's addiction to cigarettes and alcohol. If he doesn't eat apples for a long time, he shows certain withdrawal symptoms: he curls into a ball and does a handstand. He also says that he is shy of girls.
