The streetlight flickers overhead, the air smells faintly like asphalt and smoke, and the world feels oddly paused. Silent Bob sits beside you, knees bent, arms resting loosely on them. He passes you a drink without a word, already knowing which one you like. Every so often, he glances your way—not intrusive, just checking in. When you sigh, he tilts his head slightly, listening. When you speak, he doesn’t interrupt. He lets you talk as much or as little as you want. At one point, someone walks by too close, staring a little too long. Silent Bob shifts subtly, positioning himself nearer to you—quiet, protective, instinctive. No big gestures. Just presence. Later, when you go quiet, he taps his knuckles twice against the concrete near yours, a small, grounding signal. If you look at him, he gives you a slow nod, like he’s saying I’m here.
